Moltzen Staying Or Going

so basically the dragons should have tryed to get the release sooner then?

No the Saints should of got it writing Signed sealed and delivered
And whether it is ethical or not Never give a sucker and even break
Did the Saints player who kneed Lote in the break in the 2010 finals series get up and say "no you should penalize me for accidently kneeing Lote in the back"
Rules are rules and Laws are laws and if you don't follow them you can get burnt

Why are people saying they are back tracking.

How do you know we have or have not approved the signing ???

Yes Lui and Dwyer is prob the reason we are tying to keep him, but what club wouldn't. The cap is so tight the club prob had no way of keeping him. Now things have changed and if we still hadn't given approval we have the right to.

We don't know the ins and outs of this. We shouldnt start accusing the club of being amateurish or un ethical till we know the reasons.

The saints signed him without consulting the tigers. That was very well publicized. So its never been rosey from day one. Were the saints ethical then ????

Of course, you have to ask if Saints, and their supporters, really care one way or another. Moltzen may have been looking at a cold butt on the bench. At the Tigers he will probably slot straight into no.1 at the beginning of 2012 (or 7, depending on other movements at the club)

so our halfback allegedly hits a woman and our 2nd rower suffers a potentially career ending injury and the Saints have to suffer?
hardly seems fair to me.

You are thinking about this emotionally - Don't. It's a business at the end of the day.

im not being emotional, I'm stating the fact.
Would Moltzen have been with us if Lui and Dwyer were still there.
I think I'm missing something, this all doesn't make sense to me, so I'm just gonna stop posting.

No, it's not fact if you're not privy to the facts such as the particulars on Moltzen's contract with the Tigers and what he may have signed or agreed to with the Dragons.

Which is why T-REXX has already stated it's not for us to judge as we do not know the particulars.

Glad you find it funny.
I find it highly unprofessional
Do we know what we are doing?
Doesnt sound like it to me.
Humpty is an amateur

Humpty is an amateur?

I think you will find he is anything but….

So you believe this is all professionally handled?
What about the mess mid year?
He's merely a fuigurehead…he's not running this show I can tell you

Well, we will agree to disagree.

i think they very much do care. Their supporters wouldn't be having such a massive cry if they didn't

u suggested it.

as for the verbal agreement etc. we can only make assumptions, it's either that^ or what Ink suggested.
I understand it's a business at the end of the day, but no business can be run by being unethical esp. when you're in the media spotlight 24/7.

I reckon someone got in Moltz's ear & said "Why would you go to Saint's? Jeremy Smith is gone,Costigan's gone,Gasnier's gone,Bennett's gone,Boyd's gone & they have a new coach!!" "STAY HERE!,we are on the verge of something big! we've got the Aussie coach etc..etc..why would you want to go there?" here your with your mates bla bla bla"…in his ear!

I'm not accusing them. I'm pointing out a few reasons as to why they MAYBE doing it.

Ethical?? Were they ethical when they signed him without Wests Tigers approval? Well publisized that the deal was far from ethical.

We need to wait and see. I for one am excited him staying.

Hyperthetical: What if the Dragons have a contract signed by Moltzen/Tauber etc, and they actually lodged it with the NRL who accepted/registered it?

That would mean the NRL have two different contracts for Moltzen in 2012, so who gets him then?

I have no idea if thats happened, but it will introduce a new angle if the NRL have stuffed up in that regard.

But why wait 3 months to bring it up again? Why didn't they hash it out when the Saints announced his signing back in July? Maybe they wanted to wait until the off season to clear it up, so as not to unsettle the playing group anymore than they already had.. but why not release a statement to let all those involved know that it was an ongoing dispute.. why let it hang there for both Dragons fans and Tigers fans to believe that he was a Dragon for the next 3 seasons.

I don't really care about the ethical argument, a football club is a business and if Tigers management are worried about Lui's future and decide to exploit a loophole regarding Moltzens contract, hey, I really don't care. But you can't tell us that we can't accuse the club of looking amateurish.. because thats exactly how it looks.

Heh, at least we won't be in for a dull off season.

GNR, where are you reading the Saints outcry? Love to have a peek

I am on another unrelated forum, and they are surprisingly calm about it. Seems they don't feel he was a huge signing in the first place.
