Saints tried to gazump us…...we held tight and now imo have the advantage.

I could not give a rats arse about Saints........we have to look out for us and we are.

Cant wait to play these clowns next year with Moltz IN our side!!!

Spot on STT ….... I think Stephen is doing an outstanding job playing St.George at their own game.
i don't know why St.Geo are pursuing him if he doesn't want to play for them.

We know he wants to stay a tiger im sure he will hope they put it to bed fast so we get ready for 2012 season top 4 here we come

How do we know that? have you heard him come out publicly and say 'I DON'T WANT TO PLAY FOR THE DRAGONS'? no you haven't. All you've heard is people say they've heard it from him at pubs and club functions. If he was asked by Saints fans if he wanted to go he'd probably say yes. Its about telling people what they want to hear atm

I think Humphreys is just waiting to find out if Moltz cleaned up in Vegas, then they can use the money to pay out his Dragons contract and all will be sweet!

Funny you should say that! I read on Bryce Gibbs' twitter the other day that Moltzen had won a jackpot in Vegas!

I cannot believe it. 46 pages on a player who is not that good or important to the Weststigers future.

Must be the off season. Not a lot to talk about. I reckon his form at the end of the season was getting back to his pre-knee injury. That is; rather good. I cant see any player on the horizon that can do as good as him. That & Lui may have brought a change of heart.

''St George Illawarra have expressed their view on specific events in relation to Tim Moltzen, and a broader view of the way these things generally get done,'' he said. ''We at Wests Tigers have a very different view of both items. We'll continue to work in good faith with all parties, including the NRL, to resolve it as quickly as possible.''

Considering he's basically the new kid on the block when it comes to NRL CEO's, he doesnt seem to mind creating waves old Humpty
When theres a group of you and things have been done a certain way for years, you can become unpopular very quickly with your peers by rocking the boat.
This isnt the Point Piper Polo Club Humph

just spoke to tim moltzen he is going to sign with the las vegas nevada sting rays! But tigers wont release him

from gibbs twitter acc haha

We're hearing that Timmy Moltzen is "emotionally distraught" over this tug-o-war between the Wests Tigers and Dragons for his services.
>
Why did Tigers chief executive Steve Humphreys tell The Daily Telegraph on Sunday that a release to the Dragons was coming, then backflip on Wednesday? Apparently his board - that wants Moltzen to stay - overruled him at a meeting on Tuesday.

Come on Tigers, get on the same page!

Who really cares if Moltzen stays or goes its not like he won us a comp! Let him go to the dragqueens and win a wooden spoon.

Moltzen wants to roll again with Tigers

TIM MOLTZEN returned from the bright lights of Las Vegas yesterday to darkness surrounding his NRL future. But he wanted to make one thing clear: ''I want to stay with the Tigers.''

Breaking his silence on the contract stand-off between Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra, Moltzen was adamant yesterday that he wanted to remain with his present club. However, he admitted he had been disappointed a stalemate had occurred between the Tigers and the Dragons, who both have him on their rosters for next year.

''When I thought that I was going to be going [to the Dragons], I thought it was the right thing at that time,'' Moltzen said. ''I wasn't playing good footy, I wasn't enjoying myself. I thought I was going to be losing mates.

''Then things have turned full circle. I bawled my eyes out after my last game because I thought that was my last game for the Tigers. I thought that was it for me, that group of people.

''But I think that's all changed for me now. I'd love to stay at the Tigers. I don't mean to cause any harm by what has happened. I didn't want to upset the Dragons fans or the club.''

Moltzen has been the subject of a bitter tug-of-war between the two clubs, but the 23-year-old had inadvertently escaped the frenzy, travelling to Las Vegas for a pre-arranged end-of-season trip with Tigers teammates including Beau Ryan and Lote Tuqiri.

Moltzen had to read on the internet about the feud between the clubs over his future, and had no control over the situation.

''I'm disappointed the way it's all been played out in the media,'' Moltzen said. ''I'm obviously disappointed that the clubs happen to be in the position they're in, arguing. I definitely didn't want it to play out the way it has and get to where it's got.''

Moltzen had been led to believe he would be better served moving on from the Tigers next year, and did so knowing that the futures of close friends Ryan and Chris Heighington were also in the air. After he produced a wonderful back-end of the season, and with Heighington and Ryan staying with the club, he was comfortable when Tigers officials told him they would not release him to take up his three-year deal with the Dragons. While he had signed that deal, the Tigers had not given an official release.

The case is now headed for the NRL, with salary cap auditor Ian Schubert to make a determination on which club has the rights over Moltzen. The player hopes he does not become a pawn and his own wishes are taken into account.

''I was hopeful that it could be sorted out just among the clubs, and for it not have to become a war of words. I never meant to lead them in the wrong direction, or mislead them with what I was saying.

''But if the Tigers don't want to release me, they want to hold onto me, it's their decision, and it's not one I'm uncomfortable with at all. I'd be happy to stay there, close to my family and friends, and all my really good mates.

''There's probably not too many supporters out there at the moment, but I know I've got my family and friends.

''We'll just have to see how it plays out. I hope it works out all right. I'd love to stay at the Tigers and I hope the Dragons can accept that and move on, and we can put it behind us. I don't want it to keep dragging out, and I don't think they do either.''

It looks certain he will stay now. Surely the Dragons don't want a player the publicly says they don't want to play for them.

Can't see him going to the dragons now that he has publicly stated he wants to stay with us. Bring on the St. Yawn cryfest!!!

There will be some hard nose peanuts in here, but I can't help feeling a little sorry for him. He clearly says he didn't mean any harm and is embarrassed that it worked out like this.

Granted, the intention was to go but there is no deliberate misleading. Sure, you can say (and I agree) that you make your bed and lie in it and you live and die by your choices. It's how I live my own life even when I make bad choices, but it still hurts and is unpleasant when you get it wrong. I've never been in his position at 22/23, with a few hundred thousand waved under my snout and a whole host different things going on at the time. It would not be easy….

Regardless of what the clubs or the NRL think, lets just get this sorted in a hurry and move on. He certainly isn't the first and he will not be the last.

I'm interested for anyone to point me to a credible source or show me somewhere that Tim is quoted directly as wanting to go or stay.

I have heard NOTHING from him.

As for those that say he signed a contract with the Dragons and should honor that, think about this. HE ALREADY HAD A CONTRACT FOR NEXT YEAR WITH THE TIGERS, so why does the Dragons contract take precedence? His contract with the Dragons or any other team means stuff all, because it was not accompanied by a release from one that was already in existence!

That will teach St George or anyone else to shoot their mouth off before a PROPER contract is in place.

Did anyone notice the Tigers holding off on Blair for months and months? They could have announced it way earlier, but they are smart and professional and waited until it was absolutely and positively official, THEN ANNOUNCED IT!!!!…......unlike the Dragons!

Here you go.

Hes happy with the decision to sign with the dragons
Hes happy to work with his new coach
http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/news/local/sport/motorbike-racing/tim-moltzen-happy-to-join-dragons-in-2012/2244839.aspx?storypage=0

…..............‘‘You have to make the most of the opportunities you have and this is the way it’s turned out.
>
**‘‘I’m happy with the decision** but my focus is on the Tigers and I’m not really worried about next year until it comes around.’’.....................
\

...............Moltzen has since met with his future coach on several occasions to discuss his plans but the utility insists he hasn’t been guaranteed a certain position in the team for 2012.
>
‘‘We obviously spoke about it because I wanted to know where I stood going to a club like that,’’ Moltzen said.
>
‘‘I suppose we’ll see how preseason goes and what he decides to do with me next season.
>
**‘‘I’m happy to play wherever**, but for me it’s about staying in one spot and trying to better myself in that position..................

Thanks Insane. Something I had not seen before so I appreciate you in enlightening me.

Interesting reading indeed. I wonder what his thoughts are now if he was quoted.

Exactly why he needs to come out publicly and say so. Its easy to sit in the pub and tell any Tom, d***, or Harry tigers supporter what they want to hear by telling them he wants to stay, but until he comes out in the media and makes his wishes known, and tells the Dragons, i can only take all this 'his heart is with the tigers' business as hearsay

Obviously he's seen this post while browsing the interweb :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah maybe the Tiges can offer him some counselling as well….must have been a distraught stressful time for him...life can be cruel.

Jesus christ! :unamused:

Yet….looking at this from a purely onfield perspective, it does augur well for us imo.
With Lui possibly not here - only .25 of our spine missing compared to .50 is preferable.
He was improving at the back end of last year, his game should continue to develop.
By the time March rolls round the dust will have settled.
Imo legally he will play for us.

Moltzen, you owe us bigtime!!
You better deliver.

where I do feel sorry for him now, if he does end up at dragons know one will be happy with him as came out pubicily saying he wants to stay with the tigers, players and staff would have an inch of respect for him

Given that last article and the attitudes the clubs will now have, I think these are Tim's options for 2012:
Tigers - fullback or halfback
Saints - State cup
He better hope the Tigers bat hard for him.
P.S. love you Timmy….hope you stay
