I'm interested for anyone to point me to a credible source or show me somewhere that Tim is quoted directly as wanting to go or stay.

I have heard NOTHING from him.

As for those that say he signed a contract with the Dragons and should honor that, think about this. HE ALREADY HAD A CONTRACT FOR NEXT YEAR WITH THE TIGERS, so why does the Dragons contract take precedence? His contract with the Dragons or any other team means stuff all, because it was not accompanied by a release from one that was already in existence!

That will teach St George or anyone else to shoot their mouth off before a PROPER contract is in place.

Did anyone notice the Tigers holding off on Blair for months and months? They could have announced it way earlier, but they are smart and professional and waited until it was absolutely and positively official, THEN ANNOUNCED IT!!!!…......unlike the Dragons!

Here you go.

Hes happy with the decision to sign with the dragons
Hes happy to work with his new coach

…..............‘‘You have to make the most of the opportunities you have and this is the way it’s turned out.
>
**‘‘I’m happy with the decision** but my focus is on the Tigers and I’m not really worried about next year until it comes around.’’.....................
\

...............Moltzen has since met with his future coach on several occasions to discuss his plans but the utility insists he hasn’t been guaranteed a certain position in the team for 2012.
>
‘‘We obviously spoke about it because I wanted to know where I stood going to a club like that,’’ Moltzen said.
>
‘‘I suppose we’ll see how preseason goes and what he decides to do with me next season.
>
**‘‘I’m happy to play wherever**, but for me it’s about staying in one spot and trying to better myself in that position..................

Thanks Insane. Something I had not seen before so I appreciate you in enlightening me.

Interesting reading indeed. I wonder what his thoughts are now if he was quoted.

Exactly why he needs to come out publicly and say so. Its easy to sit in the pub and tell any Tom, Dick, or Harry tigers supporter what they want to hear by telling them he wants to stay, but until he comes out in the media and makes his wishes known, and tells the Dragons, i can only take all this 'his heart is with the tigers' business as hearsay

This has become a disaster.

If Moltzen has a contract for next year with the Tigers he will remain a Tiger. He has not been officially released. He will be here next year unless we let him out of the contract. The Dragons have no legal standpoint to argue this.

Now due to salary cap pressure he has found a better deal than current, and signed.

The Dragons shot the gun too early by announcing the signing as the Tigers had not officially released him out of his contract with us for next year. That's their stuffup.

Let's cut the BS, the only reason it is announced now is due to the possibility of Lui not being with us next year. And there may be room for him now in the cap, that, or his form made us suddenly change our minds, regardless, we have the right until we officially release Tim.

Yes, he signed a contract to another club but technically he was still signed with us and we have not given the nod and as a business with his contract we hold his ticket to stay or go.

The Dragons should quit whinging and wait for us and Tim to make a final "official" decision before jumping the gun like they have.

There was rumblings pre the Lui incident.

There were comments at the time the signing was announced alluding to him not being released.

IMO the Lui thing has played a role, but there is more to it than that

Schubert to referee tug-of-war over Moltzen as clubs stand firm Glenn Jackson
October 14, 2011
.SALARY cap auditor Ian Schubert will become the key player in the stand-off over the contract of Wests Tigers fullback Tim Moltzen.

NRL officials confirmed yesterday that the administration was now investigating the duel between the Tigers and St George Illawarra, who had signed the 23-year-old to a three-year deal starting next year only for the Tigers to refuse to release him.

Both clubs refuse to budge over the issue, and Schubert will now become the referee. He is likely to speak with Dragons and Tigers officials, Moltzen and his manager, Martin Tauber, in order to make a determination.

Advertisement: Story continues below The development comes after Dragons chief executive Peter Doust said on Wednesday he had urged the NRL to intervene over the saga.

But Schubert's decision might not be the end of the battle between the clubs, which has been bubbling since July, but exploded last week.

Should either club be dissatisfied with the chief auditor's recommendation, they could take their case to the NRL's appeals committee.

Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys was adamant yesterday that the Tigers were not prepared to release Moltzen, who is contracted to the club until the end of next season.

''St George Illawarra have expressed their view on specific events in relation to Tim Moltzen, and a broader view of the way these things generally get done,'' he said. ''We at Wests Tigers have a very different view of both items. We'll continue to work in good faith with all parties, including the NRL, to resolve it as quickly as possible.''

Doust said on Wednesday that the Dragons had been led to believe, throughout the process, that Moltzen would be given a release, and even during discussions this week with Humphreys.

''Admittedly, if we did have the signed release from the Wests Tigers then we would not be in this situation,'' Doust said. ''However, we strongly believe this matter should be judged on the principles of intent and actions arising in good faith.''

It is understood the Tigers will argue that while Dragons officials negotiated with Tauber and spoke with Moltzen himself during the process, at no stage did they attempt to clarify the terms of the release with the Tigers.

Elsewhere, sacked Roosters player Todd Carney could decide between North Queensland and Cronulla as early as next week.

Both clubs are understood to be keen to sign the troubled star, even if either would still need the NRL to decide on whether to register him, given his long list of off-field troubles - the last of which led to his exit from Bondi Junction this year.

Carney will be tempted by the Cowboys due to his association with the region after he was sacked by Canberra. The five-eighth played with the Atherton Roosters before his NRL resurgence last year, which included a Dally M and a grand final.

The Titans have made a second-tier offer to Carney, but officials privately believe he would attract more money from elsewhere.

Our ceo mabe spoke to moltzen and he said he wanted to stay so our ceo im sure is 100% that he will stay and we will win go u tigers 2012 😀

This is just dragging on and becomng farsical. I for one don't think he is even worth all the drama. Hopefullty schubert can clear this up soon and all parties concerned can move on and focus on next season.

I think this is awesome!!! Whats farcical about it.

Saints tried to gazump us…...we held tight and now imo have the advantage.

I could not give a rats arse about Saints........we have to look out for us and we are.

Cant wait to play these clowns next year with Moltz IN our side!!!

Personally I think it would be wise for the NRL to have to make a ruling on this. There are far too many deals done on a nod and a wink - it's about time club's were called into line about the need to actually follow a procedure and complete all stages of the processes. The most obvious one being don't make announcements on signings unless you've got all your clearances organised. If you're going to have a situation like this it would be wiser to have both clubs be a party to any releases going out rather than trying to score some PR coup for your club.

It's not really about whether Moltzen is "worth it" or not. There shouldn't be a sliding scale on what effort you put into ensuring due process is followed and making sure your club's interests are followed. I was disappointed the club folded so quickly on the Jordan Kahu matter. What happens if they say "Moltzen isn't worth the effort" this time around? What kind of precedent does it set if this happened to say Robbie Farah or Keith Galloway?

Is this a likely scenario?…to me it makes sense....Given that Moltzen has signed with the dragons for 2012-2014 and has a contract with the Tigers for 2012 and the Tigers are not willing to release him from 2012...why not play with the Tigers in 2012 as he is contracted to and go to the Dragons for 2013-2014?,,,to me that makes good sense!

could not agree more.

Although, unlike others have said, I think he is definately worth it…...not that this is relevant to your point

Does anyone know when Moltzen returns rfom the end of season trip as I'm sure there will be reporters around to ask him where he wants to play, it would be useful to know what his preference is.

The whole contract would be void.

He would need to sign a new contract with Dragons for 2013/2014 to goto Dragons, he is free property for tigers or any other club if this contract with Dragons doesn't proceed.
