If Lui didn't alledgedly muck up, Moltzen would already have his Dragons socks in the bottom drawer.
That is simply untrue.

@Centaur said:@Kaiser said:Why is it embarrassing? Our CEO is looking after OUR interests.
Also, I don't think this is a knee jerk reaction to the Lui issue, I think Tim has approached the club and asked if there is still the possibility of him staying a Tiger, the club who now have more room under the cap have said there is and is protecting a club asset.
You are embarrassed because you have insinuated quite alot re Lui and Carney…

Its not true because we all heard about Moltzen staying weeks before the Lui incident. The mix up earlier in the year with Saints saying they signed him wasnt resolved. Both clubs agreed to settle it at seasons end thats why it all came out straight after our loss which just so happened to coincide with the Lui incident. Maybe, just maybe the Tigers are feeling more inclined now to keep Moltz due to Lui, but they were looking at it before hand. So Moltzen wouldnt have his saints socks in his draw if Lui was a good boy.

Haha mix up? Tim Moltzen signed a contract with the St George Dragons - there is no mix-up in that - the mockery that has taken place in relation to signing releases would have been a simple formality at the end of the day, until Lui through a spanner in the works.
Of course Moltzen has always wanted to stay, with the Benji bromance and all. However he was under pressure to perform in the fullback spot and he knew that Lui was the number 1 halfback, so he made a career decision to move on.
I don't know how people can honestly say that there is no correlation between the Lui incident and Moltzen staying at the Tigers. There is no denying that Moltzen made a decision to change clubs, but now that he has a sniff of better opportunity at the Tigers - he wants to change his mind.
@Montague Street said:Moltzen freely told patrons in the Sackville Hotel the afternoon following the WTs last game and obviously therefore before Lui was charged that he did not want to leave the WTs.
I am one of several people that he said that to.

I have heard NOTHING from him.
As for those that say he signed a contract with the Dragons and should honor that, think about this. HE ALREADY HAD A CONTRACT FOR NEXT YEAR WITH THE TIGERS, so why does the Dragons contract take precedence? His contract with the Dragons or any other team means stuff all, because it was not accompanied by a release from one that was already in existence!
That will teach St George or anyone else to shoot their mouth off before a PROPER contract is in place.
Did anyone notice the Tigers holding off on Blair for months and months? They could have announced it way earlier, but they are smart and professional and waited until it was absolutely and positively official, THEN ANNOUNCED IT!!!!…......unlike the Dragons!
