I think it's pretty clear watching him he's a good footballer that will never be great because the physical attributes aren't quite there. No reason why he couldn't have a long and successful career in first grade though.

Centre is also the least important position in the game imo. I do think it's a bit troubling two of our highest paid players are centres. We'd be better off with a modestly paid Momorovski than Mbye or Leilua on their current salaries, all other things equal.

Leilua is going nowhere but I don't think Mbye's contract will renewed. He just doesn't demand any particular position and given his price tag is surplus to our needs.

Still got aways torun on the Mbye contract for the Tigers. He had his best game....oops half for us against the cowboys though....

Most players get offered new deals, it’s the salary that’s the question. Anyway, I think critiquing Mbye is a bit unfair considering he’s coming off his best game for the club.

If we don’t sign a winger over the off season, that’s where Momo might slot in next season.

Maybe my message came across the wrong way.

I guess I am saying that we don't need an $800k centre. Not critiquing Mbye but don't see him slotting into the halves, fullback or hooker long term and really don't see a position for him at the Tigers when his contract expires.

To be retained, he would almost need to halve his current salary.

Which wont happen. There is no way he would take that much of a cut to his salary

Centre is one of the most important positions on the field IMO. A great centre unlocks your attack, especially if they are masters of creating space for their winger and putting him away eg: Jamie Lyon and to a lesser extent Justin Hodges.
Also a quality defensive centre binds your defence, if your centre is a poor defender, you're basically buggered. It puts enormous pressure on the winger to rush in out of lack of trust in his centre, creating a landslide of tries down an unmarked flank. Centre is pretty widely regarded as the toughest place to defend on the field.
Agree with your sentiments about value for money between BJ, Mbye and Momo. Momo comes out in front there by a mile.

Then he can play for someone else IMO. He's not worth $400k let alone his current $800k.

Completely agree he is not a 800k player,500k max.

If that. Will give him a bit of time to fully get faith in his dicky knee but apart from 1 line break last week he's shown not much so far.

Yeah I don't think any position is less important than another actually. It's a team sport, they all play their part. Try going into a game without a centre, winger or second rower.

We have 1 player that covers all 3 positions. You save $$$$ that way?

? crickets

Momo slots into the centre next year, Moses M into the 6 and JR super league. Okay Moses M did not set the world on fire playing in the halves at the dogs, but he has a good passing game and is a very good defender so there is no reason why he would not work

How about Momo to right centre and BJ to the backrow ?

I can't find an announcment from the club but I found two other sources.

"The swap deal with Harry Grant is only for the 2020 season, with Momirovski signing a two-year contract extension with the Tigers although he appeared open to staying."

"The loan deal involving Paul Momirovski and Harry Grant has been finalised — after the Wests Tigers centre signed an extension with Michael Maguire’s side."
