More bad behaviour

We've had so many instances where player misbehaviour and misdemeanors have been left in the hands of self interested clubs. I think all player judgements should now be in the realm of the NRL and not the clubs. Relying on the clubs in the past has failed, is failing and will fail in the future.
 
I am still waiting for the Andrew Gee magic show. He makes $800,000 disappear and reappear with no trace left
 
Haas should’ve been stood down until he answered the integrity commissions questions.

That is an absolute no brainer.
 
That ain't gunna happen in Greenberg's lifetime, for he well knows if the Broncos go the NRL is finished.
This game is on life-support, and as long as Greenberg is in control the future is extremely bleak.

Really?

He gets suspended for 4 games for family drama and JDB gets nothing for charges of aggravated sexual assault.

Now tell me who got shafted?
 
Debelins case is alot different to Haas atm as its still in the hands of the courts. The NRL punishment will come once/if hes proven guilty in court I reakon. I think Haas did get off lightly when he basically snubbed the IU by not co-operating. I understand that Haas might be embarrassed or want to keep his situation private, but unfortunatley he has to suck it up and co-operate. It comes with the big $$ and sporting celebrity status and if he doesnt like it, get a real job.
 
There should be a clause in every contract for players and officials that if they dont cooperate with the integrity unit they are disqualified until they do.That way there are no grey areas to hide behind
 
Wrong - he got suspended by the broncos for failing to co-operate with the integrity unit. No one really knows what happened because he won't say anything and the broncos have snubbed the NRL and swept it under the carpet. And the NRL's response " Ah OK obviously nothing to see here. "
 
He was probably advised not to cooperate with the integrity unit.

Just imagine if one of our players tried this :speak_no_evil::see_no_evil::hear_no_evil:

If it's a family matter that they want to keep in house then the integrity unit does not need to get involved and I don't blame Haas for not cooperating.

He obviously doesn't trust the NRL that his dirty laundry would be leaked out in the media. Please do correct me if I'm wrong.
 
I doubt we will ever know what exactly happened but the only one I have heard his siblings got into a fight at a game and he was there. No idea if its true..

Maybe Justin should of said the Robbie role after football was a family matter and refused to cooperate. :laughing:
 
Players have different obligations to the NRL than under state and federal law. You can breach NRL standards while doing nothing illegal.

Maybe he would have had no case to answer, but refusing to speak with the NRL IU is contemptuous, arrogant and just dumb. In my view he should be stood down indefinitely until he complies. Refusing to cooperate should not be an option under a competent administration.

Agree, but we are talking about the NRL here which has double standards when treating clubs.
 
Absolutely. Lack of consistency and transparency (amongst many other thing) has been a feature of this NRL administration both on and off the field.

The crackdown then the backflip mid-season is an onfield example.

The NRLs apparent concern about conflict of interest regarding Daley taking up a halves coaching role but not addressing the conflict in the referring ranks where Sutton was not sanctioned for one of the biggest howlers in recent memory by his brother in the Raiders v Sharks game is another. There are countless more and they arguably are worse off the field than in it as hard as that is to believe.
