Injuries that won’t get any worse basically no matter what happens

? Arthritic or chronic injuries don't get worse? Good to know. That must explain why Dean Young is still playing rugby league.

Go have a look at all the stats from that game and tell me we don’t win with Liddle coming off the bench as hooker instead of Taylor

I have no idea whether or not we win if Liddle plays instead of Taylor. If you can claim to know this, truly, then stop reading the forum, clear your mind of distractions and go focus on cleaning up the casinos and bookies with your savant capabilities.

From my lounge room miles away I could tell MBye was no good,

Oh please. Lounge room diagnoses now.

All you left out was to say "Blind Freddy could see..."

If you saw the pre game vision of MBye, blind Freddy could have seen it, the FOX commentators even remarked he won't play

Playing tonight is quite possibly one of the most selfish acts I've ever seen from a Tigers player. You could see him hobbling down the tunnel when he lead the team out and he walked his first hit up. He should have put his hand up from the start, it looked like he knew he wasn't righr. I'm not sure if Talau was 18th man, but would have been a great time to blood him.

I've lost what little time and/or respect I had for him after that. How he is the skip and someone like Matterson isn't bewilders me.

Another black cross for Madge.
1 For making him captain to begin with.
2 For allowing him to take the field.

It was the doctors call - he said he was ok.

@CarltonDry are you kidding??? It affects lower back and hamstrings, core (power) and high speed turns at pace or even contact with a solid surface to the bottom of your heel.

Reminds of when a hobbling Harry Kewell made himself available for the 2005 Champions League Final. Came off the ground early which left Liverpool scrapping for most of 120 mins.
Liverpool fans haven’t quite forgotten or completely forgiven him for that.
AND they won.
Hmmpf.

@DieHarder No I’m not kidding and your explanation is different to what I found

"recommends 10-14 days of avoiding strenuous activity"

yeah dont think he is failing

Doubt you’ve ever seen ANYONE “go down” as in an exertion injury due to solely a medium grade hip-flexor strain in your life... I can tell ya this because Mbye won’t be lining up on Thursday - and i’d Bet yours and his lives on it. Also did it in last years city to surf... you don’t just punch out 80 minutes of first grade football no worries. Google could’ve told you that 😂

Was also working a highly physical job at the time - which required me, your average Joe Bloggs to take an entire week off as well as several weeks to regain my confidence to the affected area not to mention 0% chance of power running during that time

Also happy to know this as I'm someone in his early 30s with chronic osteo in both shoulders it won't get worse. Somedays you can't even lift your arm above waist height. (I picked up on the sarcasm)

@WT2K rugby days or just unlucky with recurring injury?? I’ve got a toe/finger joint that’s semi arthritic already (mid twenties) and it hasn’t gotten worse since my original string of injuries when I was about 15-16. Tbh I think Osteo is harder to manage and purely chronic injuries are often treatable or at least avoidable as was the case for me... gave up footy

If you do the recommended physio and keep up with latest treatment methods/damage reduction procedures then I don’t see why it would be a MAJOR problem until you’re at least 50+. Obviously would need to know the severity and cause of the original shoulder problems to get a more definitive answer. Please do feel free to shoot me a MSG anytime WT2K.

LOL this is high level competitive sports. You're not going to stop a player for a Grade 1 strain of the muscle. If he can kick/run/sprint/hop/jump/twist, he will play. Especially towards the backend of the season.

And if he can do none of the above you pick him anyway????

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Wests Tigers, with skipper Moses Mbye facing the possibility of his season being over.

NRL.com can reveal Mbye’s injury is more severe than originally feared, with the 25-year-old undergoing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to help speed up his recovery from the injury he suffered in the loss to the Bulldogs on Saturday night.

The injury is expected to open the door for rookie young gun Tommy Talau, the son of former Canterbury centre Willie Talau, to make his NRL debut against Manly this Thursday.

Mbye tore his hip flexor while practicing goal-kicking in the warm-up against his old club and lasted just a few minutes into the game before succumbing to the injury.

The club is yet to make an official statement on Mbye's injury status but officials are hopeful he may be fit in time for the last game of the regular season against the Cronulla Sharks at Leichhardt Oval.

However the Tigers are also bracing themselves for the possibility of being without their captain for the rest of the season as they continue their finals quest.

Mbye, who had his blood taken on Monday, will have plasma injections on Tuesday – which happens to be his 26th birthday - in the hope of playing again this season.

The therapy uses injections of Mbye’s own platelets - designed to accelerate the healing of the injured muscles, ligaments and tendons.

Talaua, who is expected to play in Mbye's absence on Thursday night, joined the club from the Bulldogs in the off-season having represented NSW under-18s and Australian Schoolboys.

Farah injures knee in first half against Bulldogs
He was upgraded from the club’s development squad to the top 30 prior to the June 30 cut-off.

Mbye’s injury is compounded by the fact the Tigers could also be without retiring hooker Robbie Farah for the rest of the regular season.

Farah suffered a fractured tibia in the loss to the Bulldogs and is racing the clock to play again.

Despite a plethora of injuries, NRL.com understands Josh Reynolds won’t return to the NRL side this week, but instead continue playing Canterbury Cup for the Magpies.

What a joke, he should be in there at 5/8th, why not use your $700k player
Also

That confirms he shouldn’t have played

@851 agreed I did not know that. Tbh, marsters should’ve taken over goal kicking in the warm-up at that point as well... then after Momers missed either the first penalty goal or 2nd sideline conversion . The way I see it is probably Thompson and Marsters were extremely quiet and lacked their usual bubbly energy (as did a lot of the side). J. Rey almost completely cures that problem on his own, tell Liddle he has a major role now and only give it to Joshy when the play’s on... its gotta yield more rewards, especially in defence than Marshall is atm
