When your highest paid and most experienced middle throws up that sort of garbage you don't stand a chance.

Hard to argue with that and can't expect Maguire to ignore it. Sometimes stats do matter.

Plus forwards getting owned doesn't apply to the halves so why should it apply to the hooker who defends in the middle of the field where ummm the forwards got owned..

I assume so. I'm not saying he played well, I don't think he did and I think he's fallen off a cliff since start of last season. My comment was about him not trying or putting in any effort. You can't make almost 60 tackles without making an effort.

Re: the forwards, I wasn't tying it to Mbye's game at all, just saying if you want to question someone's effort, question the guy who didn't take hit ups when we needed him to.

Has anybody considered that Mbye may have been trying to hard to do the right thing by the team,he didnt do to badly at hooker the other night and he may have been over enthusiastic during play the balls so as to let the team set up defensively...I watched the replay and can honestly say from a person who has played the game that Mbyes effort was solid and he was trying to be a leader as well...dont forget Grant who everybody has said has been brilliant at hooker wasnt there on Sat and Moses was the best fill in for the game..
The forwards did get owned,Harry was out who is pivitol in this team,Benji had defense issues and overall the team just didnt play committed ...
Madge has to sort their heads out,but to say Moses doesnt put in the effort is a bit harsh...Madge must know a lot more than us to keep putting him in the team...

On Mbye, the effort was there but he just doesn’t have what it takes. In grade there’s only so far effort can take you

To give him some credit - he is a centre/fullback playing at hooker and he made 59 tackles and only missed 1 all be it one that lead to a try.

Think if you watch the game in more detail the 59 tackles he seemed to be third man in with quite a few and never took the initial impact.
Agree 59 tackles is a solid performance but he played for 80 minutes also made a number of errors early on that deflated the team.
On another note Benji was named Captain this week something that was not spoke about at all, Mybe was dropped from being captain or relinquished it just like his goal kicking duties when misses early on.
Never have questioned his defense that's what Madge likes but every other facet of his game is woeful, should be a bench player.
Mybe is also one of the smarter footballers and can talk the talk with the corporate partners that's another reason he is Captain, but leadership on field is non existent.
Unsure who you would make captain when you look at the squad overall?

I get he is young and they’re easing him in but not sure playing the same low minutes every week is the answer. They should be pushing him for more minutes every week

He should be a leader in our pack. He hits hard and appears to have a great attitude. I think he was the Australian schoolboys captain. I'm assuming he isn't going to get into trouble ala Suli or someone like that. If not let's have him playing big minutes and starting.

Agree with @TYGA that the overall team's inability to accept their own responsibilities is playing a heavy toll on how we work collectively.

I think that Mbye - like Lawrence - is putting the effort in each week and my only criticism of him has always been that as the nominated captain he's expected to do more. I actually thought he would've benefited young AJ on the weekend but his role was obviously switched to help out the team.
Regardless if you're a fan of him or not, he's one of very few players in our team with a decent skillset and a variety of skills that can effectively help get this team out of trouble. He needs only to show some confidence in his own ability.

Yeah he’s a natural leader. Captained the last NSW under 18s side

To put into perspective the last 2 captains that did that were Cam Murray and Payne Haas so quite the pedigree. Too bad he’ll leave us, any smart future prospect would leave this train wreck

The biggest concern I have at the moment is if the players are over Madge. The effort in the second half last week, following Madge's spray, followed by what they dished up tonight looked way too much like a team that has lost, or is losing, its spirit. I wonder has Madge learnt from his days at Souths. Time for some varied man management I think.

Look at how he handles Douhei at half time and full time. I very much doubt we see his man management style

Anyone think Blore Still as good as the first game??

Metre stats are so misleading - needs to be taken in conjunction with possession percentage when certain players are on. Hard to get running metres if you only have 30% possession over a 10 - 15 minute period.

Your telling me Packer only had 4 occasions available to run the ball?

Where did i say that - i am saying running stats are misleading.

Probably JR but I wish it was Mbye. I’m well and truly over Mbye.

Mbye will probably have a blinder next year playing for a contract, which to me will prove that he is dogging it now.

Mbye isn’t capable of having a blinder ..
Especially for an entire season

Trouble is Mbye's idea of a blinder is to tie a handkerchief over his eyes.
