Moses Mbye Super Duper Thread

Anyway it’s good to hear that he and his manager are willing to talk with other clubs if we need him to go. Get it done Pascoe and Madge

Given up on life 😂

It's probably time he was given a go at 6 with Brooks at 7. Brooks looked completely lost at 6 last weekend. Benji deserves no more favours. I'd like to see the young guys given time to form partnerships so we can move forward towards next year. Or maybe Mbye on the bench with Reynolds at 6 until we can move Moses along. I'm not fussed if we were to lose each of the remaining games if it meant we used the time wisely. Merely trying to finish as high as possible out of the 8 makes no sense.

In the courier mail there is an news story today saying Mbye is open to the move to Titans from his manager. I cannot open the article but looks like there may be something to all these rumours..

“Moses is a Queensland boy so he would definitely consider coming home to play for the Titans,” Mammino said.

“We’ve had no approach from the Titans, but if the Tigers have a salary-cap issue and want to move Moses on, he will be professional and explore all options, which would include the Gold Coast.

“Moses has been battling injury but he is still busting his gut for the Tigers,” Mammino said. “He made 56 tackles last week against the Knights moving back into hooker from the outside backs. Not many players in the game have his versatility.

“He leads the competition for try assists for any outside backs this year so he has a lot to offer.

“Moses is very loyal and doesn’t want to leave the Tigers, but he understands the professional nature of the game and if he had to move on, he will explore his options.”

“At the moment, he is under contract to the Tigers for two more years. He is very happy captaining the club and has no intention of leaving, so this certainly isn’t being driven by Moses, myself or the Titans.

“Going to the Titans is a hypothetical scenario at this stage ... his preference is to honour his contract.”

Mammino is obviously his manager because in no way would anybody else claim that he leads the NRL for "try assists" for an outside back.Absolutely bewildering

Considering most teams use their outside backs to score tries I’d say there’s as chance he’d be leading the Try Assists.
Tommy Talua has scored a couple alone off him.

His versatility is his downfall.
Jack of all trades, master of none should be written under every Mbye photo.

I'll ask this again here
Name another captain that doesn't have one position cemented?

He's a bench utility and he's our captain, that pretty much sums up the Tigers.

He reminds me of Kurt Gidley towards the end of his career, he was getting selected just because he was captain, even getting picked in rep teams even though he was playing terrible.

It would suit the Tigers recruitment style to get rid of 1 jack of all trades and replace him with an older super duper jack of all trades... hahahahahaha

Really? Is that across the whole comp? Even if it was just at the Tigers I'd be surprised. Moses MBye? Mitchell Moses, perhaps.

MBye leading the comp on try assist for any player who's last name starts with 'MB' ... perhaps.

It’s true. He’s got 6 try assists, equal more than any other winger or centre in the competition. He’s got a really good passing game and has set up some nice tries for us this year.

Mbye was actually one of our better players when footy returned. Can’t remember what game , but he had a blinder and people were saying it was his best game in a tigers jersey. Then it just fell apart and he’s had a few shockers since then. If Reynolds goes to super league and mbye to titans then that’s over $1million dollars we have to play with.

Was the cowboys game - he’s been okay since then but too up and down, certainly not $850k material. His best footy was in 2018 at fullback for us until teams figured out he can’t catch!

Yes he has, but he is violently hated by the fanbase because he's on huge money and is overpaid. I'm struggling to think of a player we've had on big money that was actually liked. We like plodders that are average but try hard.

Unfortunately very few of our big money guys have proven their worth. If Mbye was on 400k people wouldn’t care nearly as much

Peachy can play in the forwards. Haha.
I’m shocked Peachy is older.

It's incredible that even if we have to pay almost half a million in a trade, the vast majority would probably still consider it a must do. And the fact that he's the captain of the club.....it's truly ridiculous.

So true, and no one is ever good enough for us to sign apparently, some people must not watch our players very closely if they think we already have better, almost any signing in any position would be an upgrade sadly
