Moses Mbye Super Duper Thread

Moses is the smartest footballer in the game. He does this half way through a season with a year in addition to run on the contracts. Gets his existing club and another club to pay half the freight and then negotiates another year or two on top. The existing club gets cap space. D gets rid of a dead set loafer and the new club gets a cheap deal.

Not a bad problem to have if it means the WT are 400k better off next season.

Bit of $$$ to spend. Packer gone and assuming Joey isn't getting club option picked up.

Problem is can we convince someone who's worth good money to join.... very hard to sell our club to top players, they don't want the pressure of carrying an entire club.

Wish him the best of luck. Have always found him a great club ambassador and I actually hope he gets the same chance as Corey Thompson did (with Titans) - the best possible outcome for he and his young family.

I don’t blame Mbye. Maguire is jeopardising our season by not picking the best players due to their pay packet that’s why he did not put him in the leadership group which I thought was very harsh. Mbye is a much better player than Kepaoa & should be playing in the centre’s he has played there for Queensland so surely he should be playing there for the Tigers who are a bit short of centre’s & Talau for mine has played better on the wing & should be playing in that position with Jake Simpkin on the bench. Another example is Russell Packer who really has not had that many opportunities to prove himself due to his pay packet while Luke Garner who would be on much less money is still given more chances even though his performances have not been that great for a while he did the same with Josh Reynolds overlooking him for Benji so then he would leave which is what happened. Maguire should just pick the best players he has available now & so we can make the semis.

Talau said today centre is his preferred position so Madge is putting Laurie and talau ahead of Moses.

Brisbane could use him for sure but we wouldn't be that lucky

Twal is not a bit limited at lock, he is hugely limited, as Daryl Kerrigan would say, "Tell him he's dreaming" if he thinks he is a lock, he is a prop, end of story

One option for this year anyway would be to put him in a sort of Connor Watson type lock role. I still think twal is a bit limited at lock and mbye has the right sort of skills to play there.

Always liked Mbye’s attitude, wasn’t the most astute signing but he can’t be blamed for that and I wish him the best.

I wonder whether there’s a push for Mbye to be traded for Hastings. Instead of a transfer fee we cover half his wage for the remainder of his contract and pick up Hastings contract at full whack.

I actually think Mbye would kill it in the Super League.

He's shown plenty of footwork his entire career and has been doing more passing too. He's fine for now

Packer has Utoikamanu, Tamou, Ofehengaue, Musgrove, Twal ahead of him.

Talau is the only option at right centre and is a better player by a mile over Mbye. He’s not a winger.

Mbye is best suited as a utility and he just blew a golden opportunity to win a game with a drop over the line for an ex captains unacceptable.
Blind Freddy can tell you Jake Simpkin is coming once he has a few games and our draw gets easier.

Yeah, I think that would prove true. It's funny, you think about his speed, defense and passing and you feel like he could be really good in a number of positions and then he just ends up not being. I at least think it would be worth trying, given Twal is just another prop and there's not really another option at lock. Not saying he'll be as good as Connor Watson, just that he could do something a little like that...in theory anyway.

Yeah, I think that would prove true. It's funny, you think about his speed, defense and passing and you feel like he could be really good in a number of positions and then he just ends up not being.
