I really respect Moses Mbye for his honesty and I really am hopeful that he and the club will find a mutually beneficial outcome.

I'd respect him even more if he gave half the dough back.

JRs contract was about the $900,000 mark, and after weiging in half we should i think have appox. $500,000 still to spend. If Mbye signs elswhere and we weigh in $500,000, that should balance the books for 2022 leaving us with appox, 1 mil. With packer gone another $800,000. Have since signed and lost others, and Bj is on big dollars. This is all guess work and i,m mathematically challenged, but if we moved a few we could have 2 to 3 mil to spend for 2022 . All guesswork and probably not close.

If Moses asked for a release for 2022 surly we don’t have to pay a cent towards his new contract with another club because he asked for a release

If a club offers him $400k or he can stay at the Tigers for $800K, he wont ask for a release. If a club offers $400k and the Tigers offer to chuck in $300K then he asks for the release.

He is still relatively young, he isnt going to throw away $400k

Dunno how much money anyone would have to take Mbye this year. We'd have to heavily subsidise it this year or trade for a player. The second option is complicated.

The way it works is the season starts Nov 1,so by the end of April we\ll have paid Mbye around $400k of is $800k contract for this year...and were up for another $800k next year if nothing changes.So financially were pretty committed to him this season and for mine hes probably worth hanging onto for the remainder of 2021
Best time to lose an overpaid underperformer is at season end as rite now weve paid him half his annual salary for 4 weeks work
Weve gotta weigh that up against getting stuck with him next season,or almost as bad someone taking him and we part pay his $800k in 2022 because nobody will pay his full freight next yr and rite now Mbye has a signed contract for that amount with WTs

If he was to go this year we wouldn't have to pay a lot as half of the year has already gone and the remaining salary would be around 400k. We may pay half that as a sweetener and that would be around 200k.
I think he is gone after this season as it seems strange it has come up in the media this week. My gut feeling is he finds a club and if we can find a replacement we would let him leave early but good news for next year.

The main reason people want him gone is due to his salary but thats not his fault and if he was on like 400k most would be wanting him to stay.
