Moses said he was “loving” playing under Taylor

@Ed Reschs said:
Sounds like Moses got cold feet with the roosters deal because the dogs came in with a huge counter offer. Our administration must asleep at the wheel seriously.

Don't jump the gun just yet.

How can the dogs afford Tedesco? We try to arrange TPAs through HT and we get blocked yet the Broncos, Warriors, Roosters and Bulldogs can openly rort the system.

If Tedesco leaves I will seriously flip. Especially as we just splurged 1.3 million on a kid who has played 2 games of first grade

2 games of NYC

I agree that keeping Teddy is a must - I'll be devastated if he leaves. I'd prefer to keep Moses over Woods though.

If Brooks or Moses leaves, I'd like to see the Tigers go after Cameron Cullen as a cheap halves partner for whoever stays.

If they both leave, we need to go after a proven quality half. Who? I have no idea.

Moses was ready to be a Rooster

By The Mole, February 12, 2017

IT’S hard to imagine the Roosters needing any more playmakers but that didn’t stop them chasing classy Tiger Mitchell Moses and signing him to a rich four-year deal.

Only problem was, the old “cooling off” period came into play and the 22-year-old did a DCE-style backflip on the deal a few days later, leaving Roosters officials fuming.

The sweet-stepping five-eighth already has 57 games to his credit and is one of the most sought-after playmakers on the market for 2018.

Though Moses has knocked back the rich Roosters deal, there is still no guarantee he will remain in the Wests tigers colours.

The joint venture is desperate to keep the Moses-Brooks partnership together but faces stiff opposition for Moses from at least four other clubs.

No loyalty, as good as gone for me..
I'll speak to someone during the week, and let you guys know if it's true

Moses Tiger for Life

By The anti-Mole Feb 12 2017

In a stunning turn of events overnight classy playmaker Mitchell Moses signed a 22 year deal to remain at the Tigers for the rest of his life.

After confirming the deal with the Lurker and Ali the other 15 NRL Clubs chasing his services are said to be fuming.

His Uncle Bouncing Benny Elias when contacted confirmed Mitchell was never going anywhere. Reports elsewhere of signing with another Club then performing a 9.9 backflip a few days later was all part of a Player managers role to get the best deal for his client.

Wests Tigers can now expect a domino effect in retaining their remaining stars..

Loyalty - a thing of the past for clubs and players. Both guilty of not honouring contracts The only factor that I can see that gives us an edge over signing with another club is the possibility of playing together especially for Teddy Moses and Brooks.
Not sure about Woods however if he is after premiership success and the others leave it would be tempting to jump with them

I simply cant imagine Woods would ever leave. He is pure Tiger. Tedesco, well given he grew up loving the roosters, maybe thats a possibility. Moses, i reckon will be kept at all costs. Hes probably the clubs priority. Brooks theyll want to keep, but might be expendable. Nofa, another one that theyd want to keep, but at the end of the day is a winger.

Winger is not a priority. We have plenty of back-up options there like Rankin and umm, someone and someone else

Shhhhh!

Which much sought-after Sydney-based 5/8 is waiting for his coach to be re-signed before he puts pen to paper

I am no English expert, but isn't 'was loving' past tense ? So does that mean he no longer enjoys playing under Taylor ?

Wests Tigers star Mitchell Moses addresses speculation about his NRL future

MITCHELL Moses admits salary cap pressures could force him out of Wests Tigers, but speculation he signed a contract with the Roosters are wide of the mark.

The Tigers face an uphill battle to keep all of their quartet of off-contract stars — Moses, his halves partner Luke Brooks, captain Aaron Woods and superstar fullback James Tedesco.

Cross-town rivals Sydney Roosters are believed to be keen on Tedesco, while a weekend report suggested Moses’ move to the tricolours was a done deal until the youngster had cold feet and backed out.

Moses, however, was emphatic when asked about the Roosters link.

“First I’ve heard that I signed a contract with the Roosters,” Moses told The Daily Telegraph.

“I didn’t sign anything with the Roosters at all and it was nothing like that so that’s the first I’ve heard of it.”

Moses was also coy about whether or not he was approached by the Bondi club at any stage.

“No, like I said I’ve been worrying about the Tigers and left it up to my management,” he said.

“He’s sorting out all my contract stuff and who he wants to talk to — as a manager should do.”

But the 22-year old did concede even though he wanted to stay at the club he debuted, ultimately the salary cap would determine where his future lies.

“I’d love to stay here, we haven’t really spoken about it at all as a group, as a four,” Moses said.

“But with salary cap reasons and things like that … everyone knows it’s a business these days, players get pushed out and things happen.”

The five-eighth finished the 2016 campaign on a personal high despite his side being bungled out of the finals race by the Raiders in the final round.

He hit a purple patch of form in the back end of the season, which no doubt helps place the balance of power in his corner during contract negotiations.

“I took confidence out of the good games I played and tried to build on that and I thought I did that pretty well,” Moses said.

“I learned a lot from last year and what’s it’s like to play in the NRL week in, week out and to turn up for 80 minutes every week.”

But Moses did admit he initially felt overburdened with too much responsibility in early 2016 and it wasn’t until he found his feet that he started to play his best footy.

“I think I kind of took a leadership role on just after the start of the season and then having Brooksy out for a few games, then having Teddy (Tedesco) out as well … I had to take control a bit more,” he said.

“I had a bit of weight on my shoulders.

“I grew in confidence a bit towards that middle part of the year.”

The dilemma for the Tigers now is how they squeeze all of the ‘Big Four’ into the salary cap, especially since Moses believes he plays best with halfback Brooks by his side.

“I feel like I play my best footy when Brooksy is there. We work so well together and we know each other’s game,” he said.

“We know when someone wants the ball and when to push up through the middle ... so I think he takes a lot of pressure off me when he’s playing. One hundred per cent there he takes the pressure off when he’s there.”

f Brooks doesn't show some leadership and consistency this season then they should happily tell him to hit the road if need be.

No, they should talk him up and make others pay overs for him. It's what they do, and anyway, anyone paying overs for players we don't want has a reduced ability to go after players that we do want to keep. He needs to turn up most every week and perform to ask weven half of what he supposedly accepts. At the moment, he's worth about 400k, because we could get that turn-up-once-every-seven-weeks effort for less than that already. If anything, we should get better effort from him with contracts up for grabs. We'll know six weeks in.

From reports they tried that with Rankin and Lovett but that hasn't worked out for us. Both are staying and looks like Simona is going.

Other clubs would know how good or bad a player is based on their needs.
