I dunno - **we seem to have a bad track record and getting young blokes staying on the straight and narrow.** Maybe it's bad luck but there's a growing list of guys we haven't been able to keep control over. Some of them have gone on to better things elsewhere others have continued to disappear up their own rear ends. To be honest I'd rather someone who is motivated and puts in than a young guy on megabucks who has read too much of his own press

Yeah…**the songs getting old** & im getting sick of it

Lot's of morons play footy though. Talent and the right attitude aren't related. If you can't do your best being gifted to play sports at a young age for a tonne of money what can we do.

I think we need to maintain a no DH policy. We just need to get rid of those types of people.

chance he never reaches his potential because he's lazy - 14%
chance he never reaches his potential because of his ankles - 10%
chance the bloke just ate a lot of KFC to get out of a contract - 5%

I'd be really disappointed if I wasn't already considering the chance he was another Tuiaki.

Well I wasn't expecting you of all people to put the boot into Tuiaki.

That certainly is below the belt.

He would have been a really great player but for a genuine injury.

Was also hard done by after that.

How on earth can that be interpreted as Masterton having a go at Tuiaki? He's saying Suli had the chance to be as good as Taniela.

Well….theres another bloody waste of time...two steps forward, three steps back

If he had a pathetic attitude that didn't warrant his pay packet, maybe they're better off cutting their losses.

Disappointing, I had high hopes for him. At least Marsters slips in and doesn't get left out of the 17\. I couldn't find a place for him our first 17 beforehand.

Most 19 yo's have a pathetic attitude
This is what a pro sports club has to deal with these days…egos and crap attitudes as well as football talent and development.
It disillusions me about the game further, along with many other things...self entitled Aholes blessed with a gift peeing it away like the spoilt turds they are
Hopefully its a blessing for us in the long run

I agree with your sentiments. A lot of talented kids think they will get by on the talent alone and don't want to work for it. The clubs have made a rod for their own backs by tolerating the crap of players in the past though. It's the game of second, third, fourth and fifth chances.

Ivan has made it quite clear if you're not going to put in, you get put out. I am sure he's weighed up the pros and cons of making such a decision. There are things at play in the background that we're not privy to. Wondering whether it was just his crap attitude, or there is more to his previous injuries.

If he's not going to look after himself, I'd rather the club not carry him, even if we pay a portion of the fare. We'll be breathing a sigh of relief if he isn't looking after himself post rehab and spends most of the season on the sideline for Canterbury. Paying him $100K a year to sit on the sideline in someone else's colours is better than him earning $430K to sit on the sideline here.

Yes I think Masterson's post is being mis-interpreted.

Lets target Latrell Mitchel so the Roosters have to up their offer or loose him, or some other players.

Talent does not equate to maturity no matter how much you pay an 18 year old.
A risk that did not pay off for us. At 19 and after seeing him play in FG this year dont think it will be the last we see of young Suli. I understand the decsion, but am bitterly disappointed about it especially now the Dogs have secured him.

Shame, but we don't need this at our club anymore. Maybe this may stop the Jnr rot.

Putting on that much weight, sleeping till 10 in the car and who knows what else.

Good bye and good luck.

Firstly boys happy 2018 to everyone
Im not too dissapointed to see him go
I commented last year that my opinion for a big bloke he seemed lazy and thought he was a bit of a pea heart….bit like Galloway
The only downfall is with 30 odd days till kick off where now a centre short

I don’t think we are a centre short ( in terms of the number of players in the Top 28, that have played centre at NRL level). However we are lacking a top shelf centre.

A top shelf center like Jennings, SKD 2 years ago or Kyle Linnett maybe. Josh Morris, only for a bargain price.
But really we have so SO much Center depth it's ridiculous. You have Founa, Kevie, Thompson, Maybe Addo Karr, Marsters, Milne. Maybe move Lawrence or McQueen back a game if needed.

If the rumors are true I would LOVE RTS to slot in or Trent Merrin to join our team (and one of our backs goes center). Yes, I know i am dreaming, but would love both those players for the right price (or sign RTS on a front loaded contract if we have cap room to spare).

It sucks to punt young talent, but I think both clubs knew Suli needed a wake up call. Just remember it's not just a wake up call to Suli, but too the whole team. Sets the standard for the bus.

I doubt we are paying anything going forward.

It sounds like the club has managed him out over the last 3 months.

He may have been in breach of contract and had more then 3 warnings given the clubs efforts detailed above.

Very disappointed at reading this news. I rated Suli highly and had high hopes for him this season. What a disappointment to hear his attitude sucks and he's pulled the ripcord after failing to exit a KFC outlet.

No issues with the Tigers stance on this, sounds like they've given him every opportunity to turn it around. No issue with a starting centre pairing of Marsters and Milne, these two have put in the work and Marsters obviously has the opposite attitude to Suli having dropped 5kg to prepare for life in the centres.

So long fatso…

The Tigers have paid his contract up until the point of him being released, the rest is up to the Bulldogs now.

Not sure Suli learns a hell of a lot from it. He gets another fat contract from another club.

How many clubs did Karl Filinga sign with based on his reputation as a 16yo.

When you have half the dressing room divided as to whether you should be retained, the Club had little option but to act. Is Radradra available?

Not having a go at Tui, Russell. Just saying I think he might have poor Tui's ankles.

If they realised he was going to be a dud (at this club anyway) due to his attitude then they did well to avoid being saddled with a fat contract on the books for the next 3 years. Get rid of him before everyone realises and nobody will pick up his contrct.

How do the dogs fit him in, I mean they had their own cap problems, the decision to let him go I am all for, another good move by Ivan.

Tuiaki's ankle was fine until Ben Smith stomped on it…

Suli stress fractures were a lot more problematic..
