Moses Suli

30 kilos is not easy to lose and he still has to recover from the ankle injury first. I really doubt we'll see much of him this season.

So under the same management he has gone from a young superstar worth a $1m + contract over a few years to being someone not worth keeping.

We better not be paying 1 cent of his contract at the dogs (maybe that is how it is under cap). **If he goes on to be a very good player I think that the board need to have a look at Pascoe's future.**
Guess Masters is a lock in for a centre position, with wingers Nofa and either Kev, MWZ, or Fonua and that is also about all the outside back options. So much for the depth we supposedly had.

I think that it is time to put the Team/Club above an one players that doesn't want to put in.
For so long the Club has allowed players to think that they are special and can bludge on their team mates.
Well done Ivan and Justin.
The club comes first.

I applaud Cleary and the club for releasing him no matter how much talent he has.If reports of his attitude and soaring weight is true then he is exactly the sort of player we DONT need or want at the club.
The club is far more important than any player and Cleary definately seems to be building the right character for us supporters to be happy with

Firstly boys happy 2018 to everyone
Im not too dissapointed to see him go
I commented last year that my opinion for a big bloke he seemed lazy and thought he was a bit of a pea heart….bit like Galloway
The only downfall is with 30 odd days till kick off where now a centre short

Well….theres another bloody waste of time...two steps forward, three steps back

If he had a pathetic attitude that didn't warrant his pay packet, maybe they're better off cutting their losses.

Disappointing, I had high hopes for him. At least Marsters slips in and doesn't get left out of the 17\. I couldn't find a place for him our first 17 beforehand.

Most 19 yo's have a pathetic attitude
This is what a pro sports club has to deal with these days…egos and crap attitudes as well as football talent and development.
It disillusions me about the game further, along with many other things...self entitled Aholes blessed with a gift peeing it away like the spoilt turds they are
Hopefully its a blessing for us in the long run

I posted on 2 Jan in this thread that I spotted him on Instagram.

What I didn't mention at the time is that I found the language offensive and the overall message inappropriate. He promptly pulled it down no doubt at the request of teammates or club hence I didn't mention the content.

We have dodged a bullet here unless you want a lazy gangsta wannabee in our roster.

Well done Tigers and coach!

I don’t think we are a centre short ( in terms of the number of players in the Top 28, that have played centre at NRL level). However we are lacking a top shelf centre.

We'll have Marsters and Milne as our first choice and hopefully we'll sign another center for depth. Marsters and Milne are good enough so, we should be alright.

I wouldn't think we would be paying any part of his future salary.

The season hasn't started, seems he and his manager wanted to go, therefore….

"We will release you and terminate the current contract .. is that ok.... yes"

Thank you and good night.

Disappointing, looked like a goodun' but maybe they know something about his ankle that we don't... and if he has put on 20 kg that ankle could go anytime.

I dunno - we seem to have a bad track record getting young blokes staying on the straight and narrow. Maybe it's bad luck but there's a growing list of guys we haven't been able to keep control over. Some of them have gone on to better things elsewhere others have continued to disappear up their own rear ends. To be honest I'd rather someone who is motivated and puts in than a young guy on megabucks who has read too much of his own press

So it’s got me thinking.
It was a 1.3 million dollar contract originally commencing from this year.
Since it was signed, Simona was sacked and Suli got the call up.

Mixed reports about the deal to the dogs.

Fox sports says new contract from this year for 1.3 a year same as what we had him on contract for.

DT or rothfield has quoted dogs have nabbed him for half the amount we were paying him.

Could we have potentially agreed to front load a fair bit of his contract last year which would have given us the cap space to sign the big 4 previously or all our new recruits.

This seems to be a possibility and could explain the fact he left released from his contract but there has been no talk about having to honour any remainder of his contract.
We may have bloody paid most it….

As much as I loved Suli for his play last season, if the reports about his attitude are true, he needed to go.

I’m proud the club made this decision. The coach being supported by his management and vice versa. It sets an excellent example for the players and supporters. Benji was humbled by hard decisions like this and he’s extended his career as a result.

[The Tigers] will not pay a cent of his future contract money as part of the release.

We didn't exactly dodge the bullet though did we. We don't need morons here though. We've had our fair share of them anyway.
