Pretty much my thoughts. Garner looks like Tarzan but plays like …… invisible man.

I think your being kind.
More like Garner looks like Jane, Plays like Jane playing Tarzan.

Pauga’s defence was shocking. I don’t think he should stay in the team despite the win.

AD needs to stay at 6.

Pauga needs time 2 adjust 2 the big bright lights

Fair
?

Simpkin in for Mbye and TPJ in for garner immediately improves that team exponentially.

Failing Tevita, Tuilagi has earned a debut in my view. Garner is quickly becoming a dead end option.

AD if he can sort his defense out will be a brilliant 6, if he doesn’t he will struggle. He also needs to go right to left otherwise teams will work it out.

I reckon AD has the making of a brilliant ball playing lock. He is only 22/23 and a big frame just all lean muscle. If he gets a physich like Twal. Look out!

There's upside to Pauga, he was up against a pretty decent attacking centre and backrower today. Things won't be any easier next week as I'm sure Manly will target him.

We really need to try and bash Manly in the middle next week, although on current form they'll belt us again.

I think Mitch Moses has proven that bad defence can be improved, but you can't teach a player to have the attack that Pauga showed glimpses of.
He's worth giving a good go at it.

Has that raw power that players like Staggs, Olam and Ramien have. We lack a player like that in our whole side.

Good to get a win. Hopefully it covers some of the cracks and brings the squad together.

A couple of things from today's game:
- Stefano needs to be the starting front rower for the rest of the season. He is a beast and needs minutes in his legs.
- Pauga needs to work on his defence. It was poor but obviously a big step up in opposition in the last 6 months. I would look at rotating him & Hoffman for remainder of the season
- Laurie is a gem, needs more support around him
- Garner needs to go, play Blore. He has no energy and is a lazy footballer. Running a good line every now an again should not be the basis
- Can we please stop the charade the is Mbye. He looks like he does not want to be there, and not sure many want him there.

All correct but what concerned me most was Garner.

I was at the game and at one stage we were exclusively watching him in backplay. He must have an injury or something really wrong. He can be hot and cold as we know, but at times he was really slow off the ground and was stretching maybe a lower back injury all game. I'm happy that we need more from him, but he had an issue, 100%

He’s the same every game. Slowest hit ups and play the balls then carries on like a two bob instead of getting his head back in the game.

Now when we made a few changes, we shall continue- Nofoaluma, L Lailu, Tamou had enough chances,
now is the time to try Hoffman, Dias, Tuilagi etc.

Who would you replace Pauga with? Not roberts I hope. Pauga is on the up whilst roberts is going in the opposite direction.

Pauga was terrible & would love to see Ogden get a crack, but I agree he is better than Roberts, I still can’t believe we let Momo go. I was impressed with Tuki & would love to see him wider, his offloads were quality.

Only issue for me is he needs alot of work on his defensive movement to play lock. I see what you mean ball play wise just not on the more important aspect for a lock though.

I just hope Maguire doesn’t drop him after we get touched up by manly next week

Agree Pauga needs to improve his defence, but geez I liked his pace and energy. I think he will only get better. Hopefully this is not putting a mocker on him.

It's his first game wouldn't be too judgemental that try was class , could possibly develop a good combo with Ken. They played 20s together gf winning side if anyone didn't know

Paula defence isn’t first grade standard….. needs lot of work.
At same time I think inclusion of some youth and enthusiasm is great tonic for this side. We have nothing to loose this season by blooding some youth and experimenting.
The big D killed it at 5/8.

Surely an injury is bothering Garner he's fallen off a face of a cliff

Id keep mbye in the hooker rotation. He's not that bad there and can cover so many other positions. Question for me is liddle or simpkin. I'd start mbye, bring in Jake or liddle then place mbye at 13.
