Last time I heard, Loti lives at Leichhardt and plays for Souths. So, did they let him train at Leichhardt Oval by himself or did he have to go to Redfern?
I wonder if Rusty drove Burgess and Inglis around Redfern looking for real estate when he signed them. Not the most appealing place to have as your heartland if you wanna attract players, yet they do pretty well.
You serious? People paying upwards of a million dollars for a tinbox redfern terrace would probably laugh at you saying its not an appealing area to live in. Have you been to Redfern recently, its been gentrified beyond belief.
But that's besides the point as most of the Souths players live in and around the eastern suburbs anyway, which is a short stroll from redfern oval. That's why location isn't a factor for Souths, they got beaches and the 'trendy' suburbs on their doorstep.
And magpiecol, you could jog from Leichhardt to Redfern without breaking a sweat. Not exactly the same as travelling from the Eastern Suburbs out to Sydney's fringes on our fantastically inefficient and log-jammed roads is it?
Not the best examples to come up with guys, and way too easy to shoot down.
Anyway i'm assuming all this talk about location not mattering is actually a joke … i'd be extremely worried if anyone was actually serious that a club's location makes no difference to top-line players who have the ability to pick and choose their destinations, other things being equal.
Cant believe so much time is being wasted on such a glaringly obvious fact.

Come on Abe! Stop these thinly veiled arguments. We get it! You love your balmain tigers and will do anything to maintain as much as you can in Wests.

Personally, i have relocated interstate and overseas for career progression. I'd imagine most top flight sports folk would be in the same boat. They have 10 years to earn and win as much as possible.

I agree with you in that concord is more desirable than Bradbury…and in wests current form why would any player live in a area or commute further than they have to, but and it's a big but, if wests can build into a winning organization it won't matter where they are based, players will want to come.
And if they don't, meh? Imagine the mentality of a player who won't play for a club because he has to leave home 30 minutes earlier.
