Moving WT to Campbelltown

Struggling Wests Magpies made it to 3 final series based at Campbelltown in the 90s

Wests Tigers have only made 3 final series based at Concord.

Building a successful playing roster and they will live and train anywhere.

South West sydney is the nursery of future WT talent. They live and grow up there.

What about the fan base. How far do they have to travel.
Has anyone researched The demographics of supporters.

Its the fan base and travelling that makes me say 6 games Campbelltown and 6 games ANZ is the way to go.As most ex Balmain live west of Homebush anyhow. But to keep the players happ(and help recuitment of top shelf players) they can train at Either Homebush or somewhere in the inner west.

@Jerry,point taken…
It's the way it is,maybe that's why there isn't so much talent on the market at the moment...regarding players..that is..
I know that times change and they have to make the most of it,it now really shows how big money has changed things from what they used to be.When I played at my club many years ago,you lived where you could afford the rent and you travelled to training if you wanted to play football.

Good luck to them and thanks Jerry... :sign:

No worries pal.You talked what was morally right and all but the other thing they need to contend with is very demanding wives/girlfriends where they want to live too.The girls have a much bigger say these days believe me.

So you're saying guys like Tedesco, Moses, Brooks, Woods and co don't have in them to win us a GF? And you call yourself a supporter.

You seriously must love posting for no other reason than seeing your name pop up continuously on here .

Can't think of any other reason you would make such an utterly ridiculous statement.

Not even worthy of replying to.

I'd rather stick with my passive aggressive comments than be the arrogant know it all that refuses to acknowledge that others can have a point of view that may differ from theirs. Was that engaging enough or a little too aggressive?

The conceited ass hole look is a good one for you.

Keep going with what comes naturally.

Success doesn't come over night, it takes a few years. The new training base iirc will be implemented next year or the year after.

It's up to us to either make the training base in the positives or the negatives section when players and sponsors are weighing up their options.

I remember there was a lot of talk about basing the NYC squad in Campbelltown. Not sure what happened. As unrealistic as it may be, the chances of playing 6 games at Cambo and 6 at ANZ is still a realistic possibility if and when LO is no longer viable.

Why would you play 6 in Campbelltown and 6 at ANZ when you could play 12 at ANZ. Neither Campbeltown or Leichardt are viable IMO and we should move all games to ANZ. A for training facilities they should be wherever is best after a full assessment of all the pros and cons which includes attracting players being a big con for campbelltown but a pros being the extra engagement with the region. However if Campbelltown had world class facilties then perhaps that would be a good choice at the moment it doesen't while other options may. Also better facilities may be closer to the home of both owners in Ashfield and Balmain

I'd really like someone to post a players pole on where they'd like to live seeing as how they are clearly in the players ears. Given the amount of Dogs players who live around the Liverpool area, you might be a little surprised.

Last time I heard, Loti lives at Leichhardt and plays for Souths. So, did they let him train at Leichhardt Oval by himself or did he have to go to Redfern?

I wonder if Rusty drove Burgess and Inglis around Redfern looking for real estate when he signed them. Not the most appealing place to have as your heartland if you wanna attract players, yet they do pretty well.

No he put Sam up in his wooloomooloo mansion on the harbour ,then set him up at Potts point .

Helps that News Limited is their sugar daddy pumping around $ 6 million a season into them

We'd probably be world beaters if we had a benefactor helping us out to the tune of $ 6 million a season

I live in the Southern highlands, which is about 50 mins from CSS,I take the wife and kids when I can as often as I can, been to Liechartd many a time as well as ANZ.
I travel because I love the Wests Tigers..

Can't see why it would be so testing for players that live in the inner city especially on their pay packets …
But that's only my opinion.... :sign:

Think of it this way, you are going for a new job and have 2 offers from companies in front of you. Salary the same, conditions the same. Now the only difference between the 2 offers is that one of the offers is 30 mins closer to where you want to live, so would save you an hours travel time everyday. Can anyone honestly say they wouldn't choose the job that saves them an hour of travel everyday?
