Mr T being shopped around by manager?

This may be crap, especially seeing the guy apparraently just spoke to him but cant even spell his first name correctly, but its seemingly been posted around on facebook by a few people so i thought id share the rumour.

Nothing to confirm it, but you'd like to think the club had a better clue than to block the path to first grade of a potential superstar with a squaddie like lulia! This is one player it would be worth paying overs for in order to secure long term.

Fine tune his defence and give him a kick up the butt to improve his work rate and he could be the best winger in the comp within 2 years.

We thought TNT was good, but this kid could be so much better if given the chance!!

Ok Teqele Naiyaravaro has a contract to seasons end 2014\. Just spoke with him on the phone he tells me his manager is looking else where and he has 7 teams interested in him now. The biggest factor as to why Taqele will leave is the recruitment of Bradford Bulls centre Keith Lulia. Thus leaving no where for Big T to play.
>
Now if I had to choose and given a vote being a member I would vote for Taqele over Keith Lulia any day !!!!
>
Keith may have a little more experience but with time that will come for Taqele, and considering the Wests Tigers are rebuilding with other young players without alot of experience such as Nofoaluma, Simona, Sue, Ava, and Marika why shouldn't Taqele be given the same chance and grow as a team with the rest of them together.

Yes, but if he's not happy and his manager finds a club willing to pay him more and give him a shot (parra etc) who's to say we won't release an unhappy player? Happens all the time, but hopefully not this time!

Is he not getting a shot at 1st grade because of the stupid 2nd tier salary cap. Unfortunatley is we have only 1 more turn to use, I would give Brooks a feel for 1st grade. But Mr T would not be far behind. We should ask for a exemption.

He is a 5th string winger next year behind nofoaluma, Richards, Koroibete and Simona , has never played first grade and has a contract for next year. Plus leulia is a centre and big t has never played centre so umm none of this thread seems realistic

I'd be looking to turn him into a backrower/prop (believe he played there before) purely because he's so far down the chain for a wing spot. He has the size to be an impact forward. I've heard he doesn't have the motor though, and that he was a long way off first grade a few months back. This may work against him.

But gee, he could be absolutely devastating in the back row in my opinion. He would be a faster version of Tony Williams, Frank Pritchard, Dave Taylor. I think they'd be mad to not try it. I can't remember the last time one of our second rowers cracked 100m. Ellis and Heighno did this every week. To be competitive you need field position, and therefore your forwards have to make the metres. This is why we win by luck from playing touch footy. Get some boys who crack 100m a game and I bet you we'll start winning a lot more games.

1\. Tedesco
2\. Big T
3\. Simona
4\. Nofo (played a lot in U18s and before that)
5\. Koroibete

Problem solved. And with our injuries you can be lulia will get tonnes of games anyway.

What makes people think Korobeite is hands down in front of this Mr T as a winger?

Korobeite has been extremely disappointing this year, far off NRL level as yet. Mr T meanwhile has done everything possible to earn a FG call up (he was one of the first picked for the NSW Cup Rep side last week),

People here have suggested moving Mr T to either the back row/front row and we know how turned out last time we moved a big, powerful winger to the back row….(When the Sheenius moved Tuiaki to the backrow around 2007/08 he was nowhere near as effective as he was on the wing)

Prefer Richards to have one of those spots… Maybe he can slot in at fullback I'm not sold on Teddy yet.

Well conversely Tony Williams was kept on the wing and was generally pretty average, Dessie moved him to the backrow at manly and he started making Origin teams and was a handful.

Grant Mayer said he is contracted for next year with an option for a further year after that

He also stated that the rumours RE Taqele being shopped around were "incorrect", so that would seem to suggest this rumour has no merit.

Maybe that's cause he's already signed with the tahs….. :unamused:

haha, nah i hope to see him in FG soon. I want that killer back line again for brooks to harness properly as well as a decent pack.

Mayer hasn't actually answered the rumour going around. The question isn't whether he's signed or not, it's whether he's unhappy or not, and whether his manager is shopping him around to other clubs to appease him.

Obviously would be hard for Mayer to know unless he asks his player or manager directly. Until he says something like "I've talked to Taqele and he assures me he's happy to stay and fight for his place" i'll still be concerned.

The fact he's contracted doesn't mean anything. If he wants out and asks for a release (like Benji) the club would probably be forced to release him.

Spot on! He is way behind the other guys u mentioned, and he's not a centre! Besides, JT or Cronkite would live kicking in behind a winger that turns like the queen Mary any day!

He has now

Q. Hi Grant, I know he's contracted but do you know if Mr T is unhappy at WT and wants out to pursue first team footy elsewhere?

M. He is unhappy he is out injured for 4 weeks. Everything else good
