My team for Round 10 vs Broncos

Re Brooks...torn a bit.

Yes, absolutely deserved to go. Nine misses, poor kicks, no game management / well down on last year's form.

VS

Broncs have been beaten all season post covvid return by speedy small men up the guts / pace running at their bigs who tire quickly. Brooks game is more effective against them than any other team.

Wow! I’m a Brooks fan but he hasn’t been playing well. Big test of character for Brooks. How will he respond? Hopefully he gets angry and gets better.

Brooks fan here. But had to happen, he slowly got back to his worst form. Most disappointing was all the heads down pre-organised plays he went through with despite them being obviously bad decisions (well, obvious if he'd cared to lift his head and take a look) and repeatedly getting himself under kick pressure by standing too flat.
Missing tackles was the icing on the bad form cake and a real backward step.
Take a long hard look it Brooksy, come back better!

Absolutely deserved to be dropped after his poor performance but i'm not sure Walters is an upgrade (not that there's much else to choose from). Anyway, let's hope he rips in and has a good one.

Forwards will have to dominate if we want to win especially with this halves combo

I think they have as many points in them as Brooks/Reynolds. Probably more due to Marshall.

despite being a Brooks fan, he deserved the axe. unfortunate we have to blood a completely different halves pairing to the one we've had for the past month, but hopefully it's justified.

Game management is the issue. If we are close to the line looking to score those two will be able to do it easy. But when we need kicks finding the corners, finding the grass, executing the right plays to help us turn momentum I worry a little with those two. It’ll be on Benji to lead the way

Marshall's kicking game is more dangerous imo. Brooks last tackle kicks are non threatening. Reynolds and Brooks game management sub par (always has been).

Benji has those bombs but to be honest brooks long kicking was pretty decent the last few weeks. Was getting it into corners right in front of the tryline. I don’t see Benji do that as much, his kicks don’t normally find the grass

No but Benji's tend to force fumbles. I could catch Brooks bombs.

Walters is very much a like for like swap with Brooks. Running game and support play are his strengths and is a solid defender. Walters feeding and running off Leilua could work pretty well and I'm sure Benji will figure something out on his end with Garner, Nofoaluma and his old pal Lawrence.

I think Brooks will be on the bench..

I clearly remember many forum members saying ''Brooks wont get dropped he is to comfortable in his position and in Madges eyes he does no wrong""

God I love watching Madge wield the axe and stay true to his word...AT LEAST NOW EVERYBODY KNOWS THEY MUST PERFORM....I feel a culture change coming on....
