Mybe is a myth

I agree with you Sabre. Mbye isn't a bad player and his ordinary games are quite alright. He is capable of more and I suppose that's what frustrates some fans, that they know Mbye can do better.

But again, his average match is still pretty good - minimal mistakes, good fullback positioning, adequate cover defending and, frankly, often superb goal-line defensive decisions.

Perhaps we did get a little used to having Tedesco for 5 full seasons. I don't ever recall anyone saying that Mbye would play to a level like Tedesco. But what I do know for a fact is Mbye agreed to come and Tedesco decided to leave, so I know which bloke I like more.

When something is said about you for so long - it must be true

Example;

Demps - best poster of all time on the forum despite being quiet lately.

Mbye - Athlete but definitely not a footballer. Average at best and a pea heart.

Proving it more and more each game..

Gimmi Lionheart Corey Thompson over this fraud any day,

need cory at the back, has so much more zip than mr slow paced mbye. backline like this

cory
nofa
jennings
esan
founa

and wellcome to the cant cup mr mybe

Don't know why people can't see that he is not 100%

Look at his style etc. last year with us compared to now. Chalk an cheese.

My grip is - why is he playing NRL if NOT 100%.

Well Madge, WHY!!!!

I'll take a stab and say his choice of captain will always be selected if @ 90% fitness or above. Moses was poor in the trial, but has been okay since returning. Sure, not great, but alright.

The thing is I don't think the club had any chance of holding him here anyway. He always wanted to play for the Roosters. We could've thrown millions of dollars at him, but he was never going to stay.

From the moment he was announced captain I was concerned.

Very well spoken and put together bloke, but he hadn't cemented his position and I had concerns he'll be kept there regardless of his form.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with this apparent injury, but at least rest him. We have depth in the backs and Thomo has been enermous.

Also credit where its due for all the bombs he defused after the one he butchered.

It’s obvious the bloke is injured. That near Fafita try should be a strong enough warning to rest him next week and longer if needed. I’m not going to criticise him, I think he showed enough last year to be respected. He is a good fullback. But he’s injured.

Mbye looked real lethargic during that match, im not sure whether it is a injruy or someone thing else?… he made 2 really good catches towards the end of the game.. but apart from that....

I am hoping he is still carrying an injury.
What I have seen so far though isn't too impressive. He adds very little in attack. His D is suspect. He has botched a number of high kicks. He has a very low work rate - pretty much goes missing for most of the game. I hope he proves me wrong!

If Mbye is carrying an injury, he really shouldn't be playing. We have enough depth to cover him, Thompson is very good at fullback and Momorovski can come into centre with Jennings moving to his preferred wing spot. Why risk him getting further injury.

I am hoping he has a couple of blinders so I too can eat humble pie and make grovelling public apologies.

Have not seen much to see that coming anytime soon yet.

He will come good, it’s a long season. Also apparently he is doing a great job keeping the defensive line in shape.

I thought he played okay last night. He is not dynamic as most FB's but he is reliable at the back. I think our attack suffers a little due to him not finding his role. He appears to not run the right lines on plays to expose or create options for his outside men. I would like him to play as an extra ball player also. I am hopeful he will improve as the season moves on and his injury starts to clear him up to run more freely.

Ill wait and see it how plays out as well, he showed a little bit last year. Hard to drop a captain however.

As highlighted above, he is not as dynamic as most fullbacks but fairly safe. He is a solid option there and anything more you probably have over expectations. No dogs fans were really to upset about his departure.
