Naiqama > St Helens Confirmed.2019

Kev would kill it in the Super League, his world cup and 2018 form has improved out of sight.

I bet the contract he was offered last year looks abit different to the one he would be offered right now.

Would be happy for him and would be watching to see how he goes over there.

Always puts in 100% even when the game is gone.

We would need to make a good signing to replace him.

Barba is killing it over there.
I agree that Kev would to.

Kev is an absolute gentleman off the field too, couldn't meet a more humble and genuine dude. Opposite of Mitch Moses.

He deserves any success that comes this way and I think everyone wishes him the best.

For what it's worth I was told that Barba is a solid bet to come home to Australia. It will be either Cronulla or us. If he goes to Cronulla Holmes is a probable move to us. Kev obviously to ESL.

I realise this has already been raised on speculated on but I just wanted to set out what I was told.

I heard that we could be getting jake Granville from the cowgirls
Does anyone know if this is true

I think we could be getting jake Granville from the cowgirls, brian Kelly from the sea eagles and Moses mbye from bulldogs.
Only we don't need any of them
We already got Jacob liddle, pita godinet and josh Reynolds for the hooking position
We got fonua in center position, maybe Kelly as a backup and we got Thompson and lolohea as fullback

Is that Rona laying on the grass

Ummm yes that is Curtis Rona laying on the grass behind "the great" Kev Naiqama, he who has given his all for this club, and if he does leave for the Super League I certainly hope he is on very good coin for all his wonderful service he has given to the our club, both on and off the field .. !! Good luck to you "Fro" man .. !

x 2 well said , you knew the bloke had 100% passion every week when he put our jersey on

Man glad to hear some love for Kev. He is great to watch and he has really improved out of sight this year.

Kevie cops flack on this forum, but he has done us proud this year. It would be ashame to loose him.

Holmes >>>>>>Barba

For the Tigers I agree.

Barba is a better option to win now which is the Sharks plan. We won’t be getting either Sharks will keep both.

Either one will add to the squad.

**Holbrook discusses Naiqama pursuit**

It’s looking more and more likely that Wests Tigers back Kevin Naiqama will be heading to Super League next season and St Helens is the expected destination.

Saints head coach Justin Holbrook has even opened up on the matter and revealed the club are in advanced talks and desperate to acquire the Fiji international’s services.

“There have been talks with him and hopefully we are close,” Holbrook told the St Helens Star. “It would be great to get a player like that here.”
Naiqama could be been seen as a replacement for star full-back Ben Barba, who is rumoured to be moving back to Australia at the end of the current campaign.

You'd have the think that one more slip up and Barba is gone from the NRL for good, might be a good time for Wests to have a crack. If he stuffs up and gets de-registered by the NRL, well nothing ventured, nothing gained. Money goes back into the kitty to have another lash.

I'll note that I in the past have been well against signing him.

That St Helens press release tells us a few things.

1\. Obviously its genuinely pursuing him
2\. The fact that Tigers are holding Kev back implies something is happening i.e. they are considering it and if "something" is happening but its not happening yet, there MUST be more to the deal ie a player to the Tigers.

promising IMO. Good for Kev if he can get a big payday and secondly if we do end up with a quality back out of it,

Watched a few St Helens games and they have a young winger named Regan Grace who has some serious pace that stuck out.

Played for wales in the world cup quals last year and scored a few tries.

Would get to keep Kevs haircut.

I think he is signed until the end of next year.

They are welcome to him.Over there his defence will not be exposed too much and his attack will be fine.

X2

Much prefer Marsters and Fonua as our centres

It appears it would be a signing to play fullback which he killed it at during the world cup and his defence has not been an issue this year.

Ivan Cleary wont release Kev until the Wests Tigers get theirs.

I like this kind of coaching, much better than just giving players away like previous years.

Something is definitely happening, negotiations are on going. Cant wait to see what the end result is.
