Nathan Brown gone?

IMO it is no great loss, Ive never had a wrap on him.
I think he is too slow laterally.
He has very poor discipline, and all this "mongrel" stuff is a crock, being angry and aggressive, doesnt make you a good footballer.

I hope he does well at Souths, but suspect he will forever be a player at the bottom of squads, not playing much first grade.

how many more have to leave before we get under the cap, this has now reached s*** status. dont rate brown that much but we cannot keep losing players without signing some one better, just makes no sense. starting too wonder what the hell JT is doing.

Who said we released him for cap reasons?

does it really matter why , other than he done something really bad. we cannot keep dumping players and not replace them with some one better or with some experince. the cupboard is bare, and u can all come out with we have good juniors but they need some old heads to lead them and we have very few left.

I hardly think Brown would be classified as an 'old head', BP.

Galloway is still one of our top props, despite people perceptions of him without knowing all the info.

Brown is a backup, backup, backup prop. His fitness and discipline would likely hold him back from first grade.

We'd have better prospects at prop than him too, so we can save a spot on our top 25 roster and maybe give one of our kids a top up and an nrl contract.

Who knows, Dragons, Manly, Knights could all be up for me.

Ok Balmain Boy. What "info" don't we know about Galloway? Time to put a case forward for this chronic under-achiever.

I am thinking that a plan is in place ,players that are not going to fit into the future structure of things will be moved on .This is certainly not before time , tough decisions look like are being made . I think there will be a few more surprises in the coming months ,JT has the broom out and trying to mend the salary cap and Aquire players that will fill his vision.

I haven't really seen much of Brown, but he sounds a tad Groat-like by your description, Goose, except with more aggro. If that's the case, then perhaps he is not such a big loss after all. Time will tell I guess, he is still young and anything can happen, especially with a change of club culture. He could end up going into oblivion like Groat or he may end up like Fifita, who was also an undisciplined hot head during his time here.

Devastating loss and will prove so in the long run, has been in the system for a long time and was given a fleeting look at the NRL, from all accounts he had a good pre-season and has now been cast aside.
Did $ouff$ make an offer to hard to refuse or did Nathan become collateral damage from the managements failure to manage?.

Ah… well he was let go by the club....so I guess that answers your question.

No loss here.

Brown was behind Woods, Galloway, Ava, Taupau, Lodge and Buchanan.

He didn't play any games last year, I doubt he would've played any this year

You hit the nail on the head Snake. Clearing out some of our stock is well overdue. More to come.

What this does it puts every player on notice, perform or you are going to be moved on.
You can't do this while you have a shortage of players for a certain position, but now there are guys that are capable of pushing others for a spot in the first 17.
This can only be a good thing.
