That is very poor if true. Family holiday is a weak and rubbish excuse. Like all of the players he knows the full seasons playing and promotional responsibilities months in advance. Just quietly the season isnt finished and there should have been at least a cursory hope if making the GF at the start of the season so he can't have had this family holiday planned for long. Club (being his employer for the time being) should have said no.

This would have been the perfect opportunity for him and the club to get on the front foot and speak honestly to a group of supporters passionate enough to fork out some VERY good coin to attend.

I usually go, I didnt this year (time & money) and I would have been pretty annoyed if that is the case.

I have been on IC's side through all of this, but if this is true, I can't see him being here next year.

Weak

I hope it happens I like Wayne. He helped out years ago with a fundraiser we were doing for sick kids and couldn’t be a more down to earth bloke. The turnout was ridiculous because of him. His star has dimmed a bit but he’d come here with a point to prove and salary cap room.

Ill be following this closely, sounds like it has some legs.

Surprised more arent talking about it.

Thanks.. Be sure to let us know of any words on the streets of Brisbane

Bennett would be huge for us… Memberships and corporate sponsorships would go thru the roof... Massive challenge for him with us on the park tho... I wouldn't say no

I’ll run naked through Silverton if we get Bennett as coach next year ?

Thats about a 10 second run - plus everyone will be in the pub so no one will see it.

My client who attended today's luncheon (who also has TPA's with several key players) said IC is gone

I was told our coaching position will become more clearer over the next two-three weeks. Bennett is the preferred option, followed by Madge.

My client has attended a number of these lunches and said this is the first year he has not seen the Head Coach make an appearance

Let's not shoot prematurely. It may be the Club asked him to go on holidays to let the drama die down.

Not shoot prematurely? This has been simmering for months now and I've backed IC all the way but if he wasnt there today, he's done.

A "no-show" from the Head Coach who is rumoured to be looking to leave is not a real good way for drama to die down. If Ivan requires to be be hidden away from supporters who paid a lot of money to be there then he is a weak coward and his time here is up. Is he to be hidden away from fans for how long?

I've backed IC as well so if what is written by Wounded Magpie is true I'd be extremely disappointed.

Yeah…confirmed to me too not long ago, back to square one we go... :deadhorse:

Ive come around to this being a mutual parting and the deal already done. At this stage we are showing our new recruits Momorovski and Matterson due respect and letting them focus on the their Grand Final before we make an official announcement.

Just an opinion ok.

Potentially not back to square one if we were to somehow (I couldn't see it possible) pick up Bennett.

There is some downside to Having Bennett here (Cost, not long term etc) but at our stage of development it is critical that our next coach has a proven record of success and is able to attract quality players to the club. Bennett well and truly ticks those boxes.

If that was to happen, then 2018 wasn't a waste, it showed our boys are coachable and have potential and a good coach up can pick up where Ivan left off.

If we land Bennett or Maguire then we've come out well in front cheers Gus.
