I'd be comfortable with paying him in the vicinity of $850 but a Mil for someone so young makes me wary. We have paid overs for potential in the past and look where that got us.

I don’t think we’re actually that far off being a real quality side. We just need a few decent names on board in key positions.
I’ve said it before but I honestly think so much of our future recruitment hangs onto what happens with Nathan Cleary. Cleary is going to command 1 million plus. Whether he’s worth it is up for debate, but there’s a very good chance he’ll end up one of the best players in the game in the next few years and the long-term Blues and Australian halfback.
I just hope whatever happens, Nathan gets it over and done with after his 21st in November like he’s been quoted saying so that we can target elsewhere if need be. Hopefully Ivan has a fair idea of what’ll happen too so we don’t hold off and miss a quality signing waiting on Nathan’s ‘official’ decision.

Does anyone seriously believe Ben Hunt is in the class of NC or for that matter Brooks? I don't see $500,000 difereence between Brooks and Hunt. That has to be hurting the Dragons' cap and we should be looking at Jackson Ford, Zac Lomax and a few others out of their system.

At some stage, the Penrith cap has to give. You can sign all the players up but is it a case of signing them up and then attempting to move on players to fit the ones you want in?
