Playing in Group 6 this season. Chose business above league and good on him for it. Back playing with his mates
I agree… I always loved the way his engine worked and he reminded me alot of a little bulldozer from Qld at the same age (Webcke)...
I remember one day at Leichhardt he was given a rest. Within 5-7 minutes, we dropped a few balls, lost momentum, and Neil just gets up and goes "for F#@% sake", grabs an interchange number out of the folder and heads to the NRL Official...
Was hoping to see him in the Top Grade, and always felt he was ahead of Groat. Oh well... not to be :frowning:

You mean apart from the Australian Schoolboys selectors? Besides the earlier posts suggest the man himself made a decision to go into business rather be a full time NRL player but if blaming Sheens for every single thing that goes wrong makes you feel better, go ahead.

Another one who believes the Wests Tigers propaganda machine.

What makes you say that? But okay you want to play the game, where is your proof that Tim Sheens had anything to do with Neil Begovich leaving the club?
@wests4ever said:Here we go again another Thread where genuine supporters who have had enough of Tom Shiner & his excuses over the years for substandard performance despite having as much talent on paper as the top teams get shouted down by "Mary Magdelines" of this world who defend Shiner to the bitter end with their pathetic excuses!!!! :wtf
Just like Tony "CAULIFLOWER EARS Rabbit & his band of morts who are pre programmed to say "NO" to everything these forum members go on & on & on making excuses why this player left or this player will come good or we have injuries & its not Tom Shiners decision in the end who Weststigers keep or let go????????? :blah
Give me a beak- Anyone with any common sense can see through their arguments Year in Year out- the best array of talent yet nothing to show for it in a long time!!!!!
:crazy :deadhorse:
BOTTOM LINE i LIKE MOST "GENUINE SUPPORTERS" WANT RESULTS- NOT EXCUSES- PERIOD!!!!

@MacDougall said:I'm not suggesting it's Sheens fault but I read on here that **Neil was annoyed last year when Groat got a call up ahead of him** despite Begovich outplaying him in almost every match in NYC and being older and in NYC longer and then when he wasn't offered a top 25 contract during the off season **he decided to hell with it all**. It boggles my mind why he wasn't offered a top 25 contract because he was one of the best props in NYC and looked every bit a future first grader and showed more than Groat. Meanwhile we have about 4 props in our top 25 and a few backrowers that can fill in there and an over saturation of outside backs. If you don't agree that going on on field form Neil Begovich should have been in the top 25 for 2012, then fine.
Now we're after Mason. Even if Mason is coming cheap, Begovich would have been cheaper. I totally sympathise with Neil and blame WT management, not necessarily Sheens, but it was most likely his decision.
