cant disagree more Joey is what we have needed for a decade. I dont condone what he did but the passion and aggression mean we arent walk overs anymore.

That type of ill discipline makes our club look like thugs. That is not the image I want for our club. Time for Joey to do a long stint on the sideline until he learns to control his emotions.

Paws I have to disagree, look at the history of our club. I can't remember the number of times I've come on here and people say that they just want the players to look like they care. Our mindset has made us minnows.

I'm not saying Joey's way leads to a premiership in the short term, but I think if you are going to come 9th every year then you have the wrong image as a club. Madge and even LL will be stuck into him and he should have a few weeks to reflect on that.

My thoughts are that twice he would have gone into touch if he was any other centre in our history. When you perennially come 9th you have to cop the downside to buy the change in ability.

we've actually always had dumb emotional players since our inception: Hopoate, Senter, Packer, Gibbs, Craig Field. I don't mind Leulia but what we need to change our culture isn't more conceding of boneheaded penalties, but having players who win games.

Good point on those other names, apart from Packer they predate the apathy of the post sheens error

To be Fair, the game was all but Over before BJ's Stupid Act... They had the ball with a minute left up by 7

Have to agree. I’ve never, in my life watched after the game after the loss but I’m still glued.

Cracking effort ( few brain snaps) but The best thing Ivan has ever given west’s is tonight’s loss. Mark my words.

Madge said right at the end of his press conference regarding some of the rules, and how he was going to take another look at them

Just got home. I like the fact that we are in the fight and I’m glad we muscle up. All good. But until we stop making unforced errors and play with discipline we’ll always be middle runners. Their first try came from a dropped ball by Garner. Their second came after a stupid play by Reynolds where the smart option would have been to kick deep not throw a speculator across field.
This game was there for us but we didn’t stay composed.

I strongly disagree. Stuart got rid of him because his stupidity costs in big games as it did tonight. The effort put in by our team is overshadowed by this buffoon. Our Captain failed the leadership test by not taking him off and moving Garner into the centres. I cannot forgive that poor leadership.

What ? The captain doesn’t control the interchange dude . What are you on about ? All he can do is try and settle him down . It’s not Mbyes fault that Joey closelined a guy without the ball.
Seriously ? It’s not cricket.

He kicked the ball in the Mansour play the ball to concede a penalty which setup their field goal before that. That was the bigger penalty.

That's the first big game we have been competitive in since 2011, so whether you are right or wrong about BJ, I think you are wrong about the clubs trajectory of you think he is remotely the problem.

The press will concentrate on this negative tomorrow rather than the effort by most if the team. I loved the effort but would strongly support the club terminating his contract.

Someone on fox, possibly Cronk, noted that both teams gave notice tonight. BJ will cop and deserve a suspension, he won't learn from it going off history. He will never be the presence that drives the club to excellence internally but firing him is harsh.

That actually makes it worse.

No one is saying it is good, but it didn't make or break the game for us... On the plus side we might see what Josh Hoffman has got also

We need aggression and want to see players hurting after a loss. We were hitting hard right to the last seconds of this game and that’s passion that Madge would be looking for.
When that becomes part of our DNA then, and only then, can we say that we have a football side that are capable of competing at the high end of this competition.
That will come .... just enjoy watching this development phase.

A lot of booing. People were getting manic but really our mistakes cost us - not reffing. Geez we got so many 6 again calls in the first half.

As for Ivan- he’s a turd

We've young players learning off Maguire. Bringing this player into the Club is a mistake. We want cool heads under pressure, as we saw with the Storm. Passion is fine but it needs to be controlled. Bye should take blame for failure to remove him from the field.

We’re heading in the right direction. Plenty of enthusiasm, aggression, resilience & talent however the discipline is lacking. We’ll get there though.

Good to see we’re playing well enough to make “top 4” coaches look like a flog.

I don't think Mbye has that in him to be honest and I'll leave the Joey issue there as obviously I don't want him to swing at the smallest bloke on the field off the ball

What, when you have a player losing it and the captain cannot get a message to Maguire to get him off? I'm sorry but what we witnessed tonight is unacceptable behaviour and the captain should have taken the necessary action to get him off. That is why he is Captain.

I still think we should have kept our cool and I don't think the fact we didn't helped us in the game. It's a shame the ref didn't have much control of the game, but we should be better than that.

He is like the bad parent on the sideline (or a glass corporate box) cheering on his kid and abusing those that dare to tackle him.
