Yep, that was worthy of another thread….

Whats your problem?

How about you start a few of your own threads?

Bloody hell, nothings happening atm…no footy, no decisions....try to get some convo going here and you get bagged.
Onya champ!

Not sure if I need to state the obvious but Tim Moltzen should at least be given an opportunity. He's the goods.

Yeah he can have an opportunity somewhere else

You don't think he has had enough chances here

He's played every position in the backline apart from wing , and apart from a 2 month end of season run in 2011 he has been below ordinary

He is just holding juniors back that will put 100% on the line every week . Hope the new coaches first call is to release Moltzen

Sorry to hurt the open and inviting environment you've fostered in here insane.

Let's get 2013 started ASAP! The latest is we are getting a new coach but don't know who. Benji may leave to join St. George. Jacob Millerr may go to Hull. There is talk about Farah may losing his captaincy to Blair or Moltzen and Utai is the go to man for information on what is happening at West Tigers. It is the silly season.

I think Farah is the obvious choice & our only option for a couple of reasons who ever the new coach is next year. First & most importantly he is a natural leader in the way that he plays & competes in everything that he does on the field, in the same way Gallen does at the Sharks & it appears to me that the extra responsibilities of being captain doesn't effect the way he plays or that i feel he would play any different/better if he wasn't captain. Lastly with all the paper talk & rumours that he may leave in 14 i think the new coach won't want to upset him & take the captaincy off him & i wouldn't even be surprised that Farah will have a say in who we appoint as coach as humpty & the board will be doing everything to try to appease him so that he will stay with us.

:roll

Moltzen can't even lead or motivate himself let alone a team of men!

Not sure if I need to state the obvious, but trolling is against forum rules, so posts like this will be deleted in the future.

i dont understand the hate toward moltzen. sheens played him out of position, he didnt do it on his own accord. when he played in his correct position he was good and showed alot of potential. i dont support him for captain, however i think folk are a bit too harsh on him

Tim Moltzen has more than his share of ability in defence and attack when he plays in a suitable posistion. His forte is in following Benji through in attack. He may start the season as a reserve back filling in at half, centre or lock as required.

Captain needs to be someone who can guarentee thier position in the starting line up all the time so that to my mind leaves the following
Lawrence
Marshall
Blair
Woods
Farah
Galloway

Woods and galloway are out for me as I don't like captains not playing a full game

Marshall with his recent efforts in the media just isn't a good choice
Blair is new to the team and struggling for form but could be a chance in a couple of years

So this leaves Lawrence and Farah - with Farah the only choice although Lawrence should be groomed for the role and should be seen more in the media at press conferences and such given he is both a great player and also a great representative of the club

I agree. I never understood the hate.

In the past I have been critical of Farah's captaincy style. For instance, he doesn't tend to say much to the players behind the posts after the opposition has scored and my personal preference is for the captain to not only lead by example but also be able to tear strips when it is necessary to fire players up - and sometimes I think this is needed when the Tigers get their heads down.

Also wasn't happy with the way he walked straight off the field last year when beaten by the Warriors in the final without acknowledging or thanking the fans. That came across as brat behaviour, I know the team were shattered but the club captain should be above that. He could have given his fans the chance to cheer himself and the team which would have at least been a high note to finish on.

Having said that, I am still a fan of Robbies especially after this year. He may not be MY perfect captain, but I really can't see anyone else being better at this point and as such I'd like to see him retain captaincy on his own.

sometimes its not a bad thing. Petro did it. I'm sure there are a heap of other successful captains that have too (i just cant think of any at the top of my head). I'd love Woods as captain.
