New coach.. Who should we target?

Exactly, why call him back? Let him squirm. The longer we ignore them, the more desperate they’ll become

X 2
Why should she return a call to a grub like Gould. She has no obligation nor need to talk to Gould. What would it achieve,….. diddly squat.
Just by not calling back would be peeving the toad

How so…?

She came across as not having a clue in what’s happened with Ivan’s meeting with the Panthers ..
(BS)

She hasn’t got the balls to call Gus back and tell him to stick it…

All she banged on about was the non NRL related board meetings she’s been attending.

Why does she have to call bee sting head..?

Where did bee sting head come from?

Years ago I recall a footy player commenting that Gus had a face like a slapped arse? (sorry mods)

I reckon I first heard him called that at least 15 years ago.

Griffin Impressive.
Fox tonight had a good session with Griffin.
He was signed on by Penrith to develop the club and has been successful at that. He may be the man to continue the good recent work.
Seems to be a man of strength and principal.
He has a great Knowledge of emerging talent in the west

Just saw the interview…very impressive...worth talking to, sounds like a man with integrity unlike a bloke who coached us in 2018

I don't know if Griffin would be good for us or not, but I do know he is making it crystal clear what sort of bloke Gould is, for anyone who doubted.

Seibold is going to the Broncos so don't even bother. Bennett, no thanks. Not sure what's left.

What's wrong with Bennett??? Proven winner/legend, attracts quality players, and he likes a challenge, which undoubtedly, we are. Better coach than Griffin & Cleary combined.

Bennett should have won 20 comps with the cattle he has had. He has had unlimited money under the table.

Let's go through it. Happy at Brisbane, winning the occasional comp until the secret 'clydesdales', his secret financial backers disappeared when the heat was on. So did he to St George…..

Now St George openly said they will throw every dollar into Bennett winning a comp or two. They were already a top 4 team before he got there. They won one, sure, and have been a financial basket case since. The money ran out and off he went to Newcastle with the backing of Nathan Tinkler, mining magnate.....

Now Newcastle improved as the dollars rolled in.......until.....Tinker went under, the money disappeared and Bennett was out of there quicker than a teenage boy out of the bedroom with his girlfriend when the parents get home.

Luckily for him, some money has returned to Broncos land, but he still hasn't won a premiership with them. Close, but 2nd is the first loser.

The guy is a myth. Has served those financial backers as coach and in turn is looked after privately and media wise. Until recently where people are really catching on.

Left Newcastle because they couldn't pay him. Would you stay in a job & not get paid?
St. George were a top 4 team…perrenial bridesmaids. If Saints were a financial basketcase, that's not the coach's responsibility.

Bennett's stats speak for themselves. NRL coaches don't last unless they deliver...it's a crowded graveyard.

What good has come since Sheen was axed again? Trying to think of anything good that has happened since then…. Uhm....Errrr...

Sheens only made 3 finals appearances in 10 years, 2 of those years was because of 2 good months in July and August.

He had to go he was stale when he kept thinking Fitzhenry was a 5/8 and a good player and having wingers on the bench

Yeah I know, but I would argue Potter and JT were worse, if IC does leave thats 3 fails and in no scenario were we better. At least he attracted Gareth Ellis and 2010/2011 were genuine contenders IMO. I'm not saying bring Sheens back or that it was a bad idea to get rid of him, I agree he was stale, but man the club totally [This word has been automatically removed]ed things up so bad that we may as well kept him, seriously. Surely they could have done better. IC MUST stay or its going to be extremely dire, joke of the comp.

"Buckets" O'Neill attracted Ellis to the club when he was playing in the UK Sheens did get Lote here though

Madge, Toovey, Hasler, Griffin. Think we'll be going for someone with nrl experience. I'm sure more will put their names forward

Gould had 12 names
Maybe he can hand the list over as part of the compensation deal

If you look at who's currently available

Madge I'm guessing , but you need to understand Madge is probably a 2.5 season coach , after that we need start looking for a new coach

I don't think that there are as many quality choices for a new Coach as is being suggested. We need a Coach who can pick up the reins and continue on without missing a beat. Someone who immediately gains the player's respect and attention, especially with the players now having had their faith and trust smashed.
Toovey strikes me as unintelligent, Hasler has too much baggage, Bennett is on his last legs and looking for an easy run not the hard yards we represent, also we don't have the roster for him, Siebold would never come to the Tigers while Souths are a possibility.

IMO Madge maybe the only realistic candidate worth considering - we certainly need to make the right choice as we can't possibly continue changing coaches.

Can't really argue any of that. Except maybe Bennett.

McGuire looks the obvious experienced coach. I'm a little worried with the obvious though.

I think we need a franchise coach. Not sure that is McGuire

Maybe Trent Barret, okay Manly has had a very bleak year, but injuries, the cap and internal drama has made it basically impossible for him

tbh we have a pretty crappy roster- ivan and his team of coaches were able to get the best out of who we have here. for any coach to come here now with this roster and us aiming for a top 8 would be a career suicide.

But imagine what Madge could do with our plodders !

I first heard him called that by Fatty Vautin, about 2000 like you said. Called him "The Man with the Face of 1000 Bee Stings".
