Yeah I'd want to see some evidence he can read in defence , tackle and handle the high ball ...but he is quick

I like the fact that were looking at prospects and not paying OVERs for players approaching the "Best Before" Date.

Yeah that’s about all you can take from the video, he’s fast. Sometimes that’s all you need to start working with, other stuff can be taught. He’ll probably just play reserves anyway

I think though players with speed early on in their careers can tend to negate other aspects of their game

It is an interesting thing having the knowledge walking onto a football field you are the quickest bloke on it ...

That’s why JAC is so good. Whenever he gets some room he knows how fast he is and he uses it perfectly. Coming up against fullbacks he doesn’t even bother going near them, steps them about 20 metres early and gives them no chance. Add in other footy smarts and defence and they’re unplayable

Planting defenders is the key ...no matter how fast you are

The other key with speed is only use all of it if you have to .....having an extra half gear that the opposition doesn't necessarily now about can be a huge advantage

Exactly, if you make a break, slow down for a second and get the fullback slowing down too, then hit top gear again it gives them no chance. That’s what JAC can do so brilliantly. Speed is such a powerful weapon if used correctly, you can’t teach that kind of Pace

Damn he's quick. Impressive vertical leap too on a few of those tries.

Anyone know anything on Allan Fitzgibbon?
Seems like he’s a panthers junior and played sevens rugby this year for Aus...
Also won the fastest 100m sprint at the 2020 Tribal League

Yeah just saw his insta story. He's got a JAC vibe in him. BTW We got Tyrone Roberts Davis aswell? Is that the guy who played for the titans?

Yeah also did see that.
Yep the Titans fullback, is only 23..

Interesting - he is the Jets cousin - maybe brought in to give james a bit of grounding.

. . . jet . . grounding :smirk:

He's big with good pace. I hope Tahu can work with him as he has much to offer. I believe he is also related to former Bamain 5/8 Paul Davis, one of my favourite players.

Brooks was asked about Fitzgibbon is his press conference, he compared him to JAC (Fitzgibbon ran 100m in 11 seconds compares to Joshs 10.8) and he also said he was impressed by how high he jumps to catch kicks, as someone on here mentioned

I’ve always wondered if rugby league scouts in Australia look at signing top sprinters

There’s some 18-20 year olds out there that can run 100m sub 10.3, I guess they will get slower as they pack on mass but the top sprinters in America if they don’t make it fall back on college football etc. Don’t see how they couldn’t make a good winger/centre here if they don’t kick on in sprinting

WT web site is on the same level as BUZZ-crappy,never up to date and little news of develoment players or anything informitive Multi mil sport deserves better.

Most clubs rarely update on train and trial deals at all really and that’s what they might be on. Jersey Flegg and reserve grade squads probably won’t come out for a while too
