New faces part of extended training squad

@balmain-boy Good on these young kids who sound exciting and should get a huge kick and benefit training with the big guys. Does make me wonder a bit about why other 2019 Jersey Flegg talents such as Smith, Dillon and Burey can't get to train in the extended squad. Some of these kids seem to get left behind & then we wonder why they sometimes leave to go to other clubs. Surely they could fit in up until Christmas somewhere and give them a bit more encouragement particularly after they have performed well and have runs on the board?

I reckon those top Flegg boys might be training with the senior squad too. It would be unusual not to, but then i haven't been at training to see. They only mentioned those on train and trial contracts with Magpies/Tigers.

Smith played some CC last year, was Flegg player of the year. Why wouldn't they encourage him to train with the big boys and aspire to reach their levels? Henry LP did last year, and he hadn't played Flegg at that stage either.

anyone else rate Bradley?

i quite like him

He's incredibly skinny. That's his biggest problem. Look at photo of him in the gym, his arms have no muscle on them. He needs to hit the gym hard this off-season. Not sure if he's quick enough to be a winger, but he's definitely not strong enough to be a back rower at this stage.

he orignally played Five-Eighth but we put him on wing cause of his height

@TheDaBoss I like him but he lost confidence somewhere along the way and didn't get much ball the last few games which would have been frustrating. I see this a lot in Jersey Flegg (Lee Silva and Scolari were absolutely starved but made do with limited opportunities) but I don't expect it at CC level. However wingers like JAC complained to his manager that he couldn't get the ball at Storm at one stage so it can happen in any game. Totally agree both in CC and JF why wouldn't we be bombing to Bradley's wing regularly?

I think Kane could be very good but like @balmain-boy I'm not sure if wing is his go - maybe as he develops into the pack?

He has the size but not the speed whereas some of our younger ones have the speed but not the size!!

Bradley to me would make a better centre than winger - quick enough but he could be a handful with his height and reach if he has any type of offload in his game.

@willow I just don't think he is agile at all to play centre.

esan wasnt that quick either, so it wouldnt hurt to try imo

@TheDaBoss agility is different to speed, Esan was agile for a somewhat big body.

yea true

if bradley rips in during off season he could up his speed a tad

but tbh there is a big battle for centre spots atm

Zac Cini, Jake Simpkin, Kane Bradley & Jock Madden will join the club's top 30 in 2021. Reece Hoffman will join the top 30 in 2022.

Cini and Simpkin will hopefully be pushing for first grade come 2021

Question...with these development players, if they turn out to be duds, are we still obligated to give them a top 30 spot. Like is it a contracted transition from development player to top 30, or can we just be like sorry you didn’t make the cut and recruit elsewhere.

As far as I know ..... Only the development players you nominate at the beginning of the season can become eligible to be added to the 30 listed NRL playing squad ...... and that occurs from 1 July in any year/season. So from that date the coach has expanded list of players who are eligible to play NRL for remaining rounds.

Yes the transitions are written in their contract. Subject to change of course, if they're ahead of schedule they can get promoted, but you can't stop them from being promoted without releasing them.

Players back at pre-season training
Thu 21 Nov 2019, 01:35 PM

Wests Tigers players were back in action on the pre-season training field this week, with the club's young guns and extended NRL players toughing out a difficult session at Concord Oval.

Anyone remember when we have to move out of CO and into our demountables
