Kul - i believe ours suit our team as we are only 11 or so years old. We dont have the history of all the retro designs you mention.

We have over 200 years of history
@Adman said:So do you guys want to follow the 'Wests Tigers' or 'Wests (&) Tigers'. All this talk about 'we are WT and not Balmain or Magpies' and how we should let go of the old clubs, then when convenient, we drag out the 200 years of heritage. We have 11 years of heritage. These jerseys truly look nothing like the old balmain and magpies jerseys, I for one am loving them, and it looks like the general feeling towards them is starting to shift.
@Kul said:hang on, we are still a Joint Venture between Balmain and Wests - don't forget that.
I'm all for the "we are Wests Tigers now" rhetoric, but the colours and our name are not variables:
**Wests** Magpies (**black** + **white**) + Balmain **Tigers** (**black** + **gold**) = **Wests** **Tigers** (black + white + gold)
if we go about changing the colours to Blood Orange and move forward with this _"we are a completely different club"_ idea, then we may aswell dump the name aswell and call ourselves the "Greater Western Sydney Bengals". We'd also have to dump playing at Leichhardt and Campbelltown as these would be "relics of the past", instead shifting to Homebush.
I'm sorry, but when I went to game last night what did it see? Thousands of people wearing Balmain and Wests jerseys. People still love our heritage and all that it stands for.
This argument is not one that is _stuck in the past_ or _anti-future_. No, people who are stuck in the past are people like the Wests mob who keep crying about their club's incompetence, or raving lunatics who ark up about how much better Leichhardt is over Campbelltown.
On the contrary, to embrace our rich heritage of 203 (or 194 depending on how you calculate it) years and to celebrate it in this wonderful Joint Venture is something that is progressive and forward looking.
Tribalism is strong and growing, especially in the Balmain area.
Wests Tigers **are** Balmain and Wests. Try telling all those people yesterday who were wearing Balmain and Wests jerseys at a 1930's ground otherwise.

I mostly agree, all I'm saying is that I don't understand some people's arguments, for example, how they don't want a jersey that identifies closely with balmain and have a design that's uniquely WT, but want the colour orange to reflect the colour from the early days :crazy I thought the new 'blood orange', even though it's more close to actual orange than ever, is something people would like. A unique colour to wests tigers. No other team has orange as the main colour. They dumped balmain gold and I thought that was a great idea.

Bwahaha
The design has nothing to do with ''standing out"
All our orange jerseys have stood out
Weve had one every year of our existence
Its just this is the first year weve had a balmian jersey as our main…
I wonder what the 'retro' will look like this year?
