New Jerseys

Well obviously the balmain side care enough not to allow wests short term control for funding and the wrsts side care enough to he unhappy with current arrangements.

So thats the reason you are so deadset against independence?

It ruined your change to take control. How disappointing it must be for you.

Ever ask yourself why Balmain never had short term control when they were they carried the financial burden in the early days of the JV? Why is it only now acceptable that one side should take control? Is it because Wests now have the chance?

The way i 've looked at this scenario evenly by criticizing the Magpie contingent, i think thats proof enough i've already moved on

A thread about a new jersey which pretty equitably treats both our past and our history as WT and the same old debates get dragged up in a pointless pitched battle.

Sadly this has been a reflection of our pathetic board members thus far

i followed balmain before the merger, and i will admit that because of the branding the club does look to have a lot more of balmain in it than western suburbs.

so i can see the point of those from the magpies.

however, the fact is that branding and marketing is a huge part of a clubs income and frankly, a magpie is not that cool of a mascot…. i mean, what would you rather? a tiger, or a....magpie?!

also, orange is a great colour and an obvious choice for jerseys given its uniqueness in the league.

i think the club has bent over backwards to retain the magpie on the sleeve and also with the jumpers continually "reflecting the heritage" by having V's all the time as well as often wearing the heritage jerseys.

even though it sounds like we are idiots, the club is called "WestS" tigers, not west tigers, for the sake of wests.

at least its not like st george-illawarra. who ever even thinks of them as illawarra? even when they wear their jerseys they are just the dragons.

i think the club has done everything it can to retain a now defunct identity in the nrl and i wish people would be at peace with it and accept it.

Haha exploitation???

Someones holding a gun to you head>?

Gee up eh?

Aw daddy, mummy I want the new Tigers' jersey cause the old one's not the same as the players wear :bawling - think about it Ink. Consumerism at it's worst. Just like we all have to have a new iphone or ipad every 6 months because the previous model isn't cool anymore - give me a break!

its well known in advertising that kids are strongly targeted for merchandising. flippedy's point was perfectly illustrated in an episode of the simpsons (yes, im using the simpsons!) where they had a clip showing kids how to get the new he-man doll and the kids is crying and throwing a tantrum because he has to have the newest one.

corporations know that if they get children to use their brand, or follow their team in this case, that they have return business for many years to come. mcdonalds is a perfect case in point: they even have a clown as their mascot.

Hopefully we'll have a predominantly black jersey restored next season. I'm from the Balmain side as far as pre-merger is concerned, but I think it is ridiculous that the only time the team has worn a black jersey during the last few years is when it's the heritage jersey. If it were up to me the team would just wear the two heritage jerseys all season long. It would be orange at Leichhardt, black at Campbelltown and split 50/50 at ANZ. In the away games it gets a bit trickier because we don't get to choose. If we are playing a team that has a lighter jersey such as the Bulldogs, Sharks and Titans, then the black jersey makes more sense. Against say Melbourne and Penrith, we would have to wear the orange.

They had the black ones with the 4 bars on the sides just a couple of years ago….

End of story….............

Why don't we think about it like this.

Mum + Dad = Babies

Do you argue with your wife when the baby has her features?
