After the concerns of users of this website were voiced recently, it’s with great pleasure that several changes and initiatives are announced today that will help this site continue its evolution as the best website and community for Wests Tigers fans. This site, this meeting place, this family, which thousands of fans have joined over the years has grown so strong in recent times and it is our intention to make it even better and stronger for you all.
Moderators:
Firstly, the Moderator structure has been modified. In responding to the issues raised by users, several moderators have been added and several removed. Forum user King Sirro and Tiger Watto have been added to the team to help diversify the moderator base. Both these users have been valuable contributors to the forums and well respected among the users. Without doubt, they will add a distinctive flavour of this website in many ways.
A special thankyou to the departing moderators who have helped this site and the previous one for many years.
Administrators:
Geo and Willow have been promoted to Administrators and will be helping more in the general day-to-day running of the site. Their ongoing support of this site as moderators has been invaluable and this promotion is fitting.
Please feel free to contact these two users if you have any administrational questions or issues.
Fan Representative Group:
Perhaps most excitingly, a Fan Representative Group will be started at the end of the season. This group will be made up of five regular users voted in by the community to serve for a one-year period as representatives of all users of this site. The people in this group will have a part in the running of all aspects of this site, from the drafting of rules through to their implementation and more.
Many times users of this site have raised their concerns that Moderators or other users dominate the agenda of the forums or that double-standards are employed; the Fan Representative Group will help bring this to an end. Only then can we truly say that weststigersforum.com is a community by the fans, for the fans!
Further details of the Fan Representative Group will be released shortly with voting to take place by the end of the month, but in the meantime please consider nominating yourself or any other user for this group when nominations open if that is something that you would wish to do, or if you believe someone would be good at doing.
A NEW website on the way:
All year we have been working behind the scenes on the next version of this website and we hope to launch it over the summer. With web technology evolving rapidly, the possibilities are almost endless. The innovative applications that are already being prepared will make weststigersforum.com a mind-boggling site, quite possibly the best in the Rugby League world!
If you have any ideas, suggestions or if you see anything on any other website that you think would be good for here, please let us know by posting in the Forum Support section and we will try our best to get it running on the next site.
