New officiating will ruin the grand final

It's quickly becoming a game of touch footy. People are forgetting this is a contact sport. If there is no bad intent then players shouldn't be sin binned.

Probably ruin origin too.
Unless they ignore the rules for those games like they've done in the past.

I don't think anyone would be filled with confidence right now the way things are going.

When I play touch football years ago I was hit head high and the referee sent the aggressor off for the full game.

Ricky in trouble over netball joke.

On Fox Sports on Wednesday night, Kent was addressing reports that Stuart's relationship with some of his Canberra Raiders players was on shaky ground, and paraphrased the coach's response from a conversation he had with him.

"He said there's no issue there," Kent said on NRL 360.

"As Ricky said to me - 'If I can't have tough conversations with my better players I might as well coach netball'."

The subtle barb at netball was not missed by teams, commentators and fans. Ellis, along with other netball identities immediately shared their disappointment at the dig on social media and the legendary former Diamonds captain opened up to Wide World of Sports on why it struck a nerve.

"It riles us. I've got friends who are professional coaches who are really angry about this because it actually casts a pretty poor aspersion… it's having a shot at them, saying they're not capable of having the tough conversations," Ellis said.

Knew this would trigger some folk, haha.
Sorry Ricky, not allowed to say stuff like this any more.

Teddy has to stop falling into tackles

How is he sent to the sin bin for a high tackle that would have been a perfect tackle if Tedesco doesn’t slip a fraction of a second before contact. Absolute joke!!!!!

The comp is an absolute joke as it is. We aren't gonna be there on GF day so couldn't care less if it's just a butchers job for the GF.
Farcical sport, will be hit and miss until season's end.....whoever the NRL wants to giftwrap the premiership to it will happen. Hopefully our club is in the 'fairytale' mix sometime soon.

To be fair, do you think coaches in netball wouldn't encounter the same issues in Rugby League in regard to conflict with players?

Grand finals have been ruined by officiating long before these rules came along.

Did somebody say six again ?

To be fair, the rule is, on field / bunker just to rule on contact, not circumstances. Match review to decide on any other mitigating circumstances.

Obviously the NRL wants to stamp out contact with the head and by making the rule black and white ( head gets 10, head with intent off) it makes it easy for on field officials to rule on quickly and here can be no "grey" area.

I think what will be interesting is all these cases now at MRC and how a falling Teddy scores vs the dragon player that got sent. Very different tackles so should be two very different outcomes. Should be.

Agree with what you’ve said but ..
With Tede$co falling into a tackle the ON FIELD ramifications are HUGE ...
13 v 12 or 13 v 10

On field common sense has been thrown out the window..

I agree, the Origin is a joke, it is the NRL, so all games must be played by the same rules.

If they stick to their guns, the players will adjust. 2 of the 3 send offs were illegal contact, not bad luck. Ese Ese needs to be assessed for special needs. It was the last game of the weekend. Plenty of time to know better.

And lol at the comment I read before our game, (can’t remember who) whining that our team would be used as the scapegoat and other clubs would get off easy. How’d that work out?

We were very well disciplined I thought
