News Ltd giving it to Robbie Farah

Farah is the best hooker playing the game today, and has been for a number of years.

How many on this forum would swap Farah for Smith?

I would not.

As for the article, the bloke is a wanker. Ignore him.

Had they picked DCE ahead of Farah (or do so for the finals), id have no drama, he is banging the door with relentlessly good footy.

However the rest of the article is atrocious, the implication that Robbie has not played good footy since 2005 is silly.

Farah has been comfortably our best in SOO the last 2 seasons, has been pretty good for the Tiges for a number of years, and although they dont tell the whole story, Farah comfortably has the best overall stats of all hookers both short and long term, he deserves his spot on the tour.

As others have said, how dominant would Friend or DCE have been playing in the injury ridden, under skilled and under powered Tigers team of 2013\. Yet Farah, most weeks walked of the field MOM or very close to it.

I think his selection is more about reward, when all things are equal or close to equal you reward the person who has done the hard yards for the longest time

At the risk of being howled down, particularly after how much Potter was critiscised on here after replacing Robbie in a match earlier this year, I would much rather him see less game time. Whilst he is a much greater player than eight years ago and the game has also changed, I thought we were at our best when we played a partial tag team at dummy half on our roll to becoming premiers.

Friend has come on in leaps and bounds, particularly last year with Mortimer as his tag team partner. He has probably edged ahead of Ballin as QLD back-up hooker, but it is a lot easier to shine when you are reasonably fresh.

I'm not against Farah getting a lightened workload, but not when we had to use Iosefa to do so.

Now with Halatau and Luani coming along well, we have options during the year to ease Farah through things like the Origin period etc.

I was only thinking to myself today 'what will Denes role be?'

Other than a bench forward (which hopefully isnt the case) a back up dummy half to Robbie was all I could surmise

There's always one journo (or several) who is off with the fairies and enjoys blowing their own agenda. Farah on form is certainly deserving of an Aussie jersey. As for DCE, he's in excellent form but the question for Sheens will be does he want to carry a specialist half as a utility. I still think Farah offers the greater utility value.

Mike Colman is a QLD journalist, promoting 2 queenslanders (3 if you count Cronk) over Farah - NSW hooker, draw your own conclusions on that. His points are mostly irrelevant 1\. Farah is the incumbent and was in good form, he deserved to be selected. 2\. Jake friend had a good year, but isn't even on the bench for Qld, no big rep match experience. I do agree that DCE has taken his chances pretty well and may get Farah's place, but who can tell with Sheens in charge.

Either way it's good for us as Farah will again bltiz it as he is very competitive and want to show how good he is. Finally, (hopefully) he will have more than a couple of decent forward to lay a platform this year. Bring on 2014 I say

Colman is a one-eyed inbred. The statement that he makes about Farah only getting a game because he is supposedly Sheens' mate is absolute crap in the extreme. Reading between the lines at what happened at WT last season, Farah and the other senior players had a major hand in Sheens getting the sack. Sheens basically acknowledged this himself on NRL 360 earlier this season so he would hardly be giving Robbie a game just out of love.
Wasn't there also a blow up in 2012 when Sheens didn't give Farah a run for the Kangaroos and kept him on the bench for the whole game or something like that. Remember Farah wasn't happy about whatever it was at the time. So I don't really think they are best mates TBH.

Would love to hear who Colman thinks are the best hookers in the NRL, I bet there wouldn't be a New South Welshman in his top 5\. An opinion of an imbecile like him isn't even worth considering. He should stick to covering the QLD Reds, Broncos, Titans and Cowboys.

At least now his replacement won't be that imbecile Iosefa off the bench

Just mother story. His got some ok points but I think Robbie holds his own in green and gold. Both Farah and Evans have different styles, different things they can bring to the team.zzzzzz

Interesting to note News Limiteds Australian profits have slumped 20% in the last year …. I wonder if the standard of reporting has anything to do with it ?

Potter has said that Luani will be the back up hooker, Halatau should be handed the 14\. Jersey from Rd1\. Hasler always found a spot for him in the 17.

This article is stupid as DCE and Farah offer completely different utility value. DCE could slot in as a half or centre if needed whereas Farah could slot in at Hooker or Lock.
Seriously, do they think that DCE could run on field and make 50 tackles? Farah could easily do this but DCE would be much better choice as a half.

And Friend? What a bunch of bullshit, Friend is blessed with a monstrous pack. Don't get me wrong I have always been a fan of Friend but if Cameron Smith was injured I would pick Farah for #9 any day of the week.

Stupid article by a stupid Queenslander

farah is a good club player. i dont think he is a great rep player.

the old 'he's carried us' is bollox. there have been plenty of other players who have put their hand up and performed.

he's good, but he's not the greatest player ever which some make him out to be (similar thing happened with marshall till ppl woke up to themselves).
