Douehi eventually. Maybe another full season and see where his heads at mentally.

What’s wrong with his head?

He's still pretty green when it comes to playing in the NRL. After the tears last week, the pressures of life and a footy career (with the ups and downs) are obviously taking their toll. In a year or 2, we will have a clear indication of whether he's legit captain material. I think he has potential, but we'll see.

I’m sure a lot of what happened in Lebanon played a part in that. Not sure why so much is being made of it. Even if it wasn’t Lebanon related you could easily give him credit cos he shows passion. It was only a few weeks ago MCK copped it for joking around with opposition players. Now another player shows emotion that could be attributed with losing and we question him over it. I fail to see how him crying was a bad thing, regardless of the reason

Different types of emotion

I’m disappointed Hobbo that you didn’t vote for Brooks

Waste of a vote

I love Luciano but not sure he’s captain material. If you’ve watched his press conferences he’s not exactly a fantastic speaker and while his energy is terrific not sure how good that would be for talking to refs normally you want calm in those situations.

He's not ready now. In 2-3 years? maybe...

For me it's Noffa, then daylight, then maybe Twal. You really want your captain to be on the field for 80 mins if possible which rules Packer, LL and Aloai out for mine. Noffa has more passion for the jersey and more heart than the rest of the team combined more often than not. Very well spoken and is always ready to put his hand up when things are going bad. I really don't see any other worthy options from within our current ranks.

Aloiai.

He's well spoken, plays aggressively and is a lock to be in first grade and playing big minutes for some time. Doueihi is still a bit young and doesn't strike me as a leader in the same way as Aloiai but he is passionate and also quite intelligent. Luciano can be like an emotional leader - fire people up, lead by example but I don't think he's necessarily who we'd want to have talking to refs given he could lack composure and perhaps doesn't communicate as well as you'd like.

These were my thoughts. Didn't put it as well as you though.

Nofa would be perfect.
His not unaccustomed to wandering off from his wing position so I’m sure he’d find the time to be in the middle chat with the referees, challenge calls etc.

Jacob Liddle

I never considered this. Could be a really great option. Not sure next year would be his, but maybe the following. Those suggesting Nofo - man, his defence isn't something a captain should be dishing up. It wouldn't be good for team morale having him letting in tries as he's been known to and carrying the captaincy badge.

I've mentioned this before that during his rehab Madge had Jacob positioned in the coaches box many times - I can't help but think he was teaching him game & player management skills with a view to life after injury! That being said Madge also mentioned the Leadership qualities of Shawn Blore which, despite recent rumblings, may be where Madge is seeing the future.

I thought that he was your favourite player

To be honest I don't think there is a real leader in our squad. People say rowdy... but to me he would be a club captain not on field captain. It shows another area we lack. Speed goalkicking and leadership is in very short supply at concord

With talk Mbye will be moved on and with Benji looking like he’ll finish up at the end of the season, it’s a possibility we will need a new captain in 2021.

Packer preferred option might keep his head straight, well spoken and takes ownership for his performance.
In reality its the best of not a great list considering the options.
Need a player that the others respect and supports the coaches plans moving forward, one suspects that Mybe was also on the outer not only for his on field performances, how much is being paid, but was also not buying in.

I’d say Harry if he stayed with us but he’s not so we need to recruit leaders, we need to recruit a captain. Maybe Brandon Smith.

Josh A is off the field too much. Ideally you need an 80 minute player which is why hookers and halves make popular skippers. Nofo is all heart but struggles in front of a camera - just not a natural speaker; wing is probably not the perfect position for a captain either.
I've said before we don't have anyone who stands out as the perfect candidate - if Harry stays he'd be the pick.

That's a pretty sad bunch to try and pick a captain out of. I don't think Brooks needs any extra pressure by being captain, tbh, I would throw Nofa in there before Brooks at least he has a go each week and shows passion, albeit with the odd error or two, but no worse than our existing captains now.

Noffa has a lot of attributes, but he’s a winger, and you don’t make wingers captains.

Warren Boland was.

AD isn’t captain material at best for a few years.
He doesn’t bark orders and isn’t pulling the guys together and showing leadeeship signs.

The only player atm deserving is LL which says alot about our side tbh. He shouldn’t be captian either but is the only active talker we have.

Grant is a future captain but wouldn’t put that pressure on him for a few years.

Packer co captain AD (grooming)
When Packer goes Blore if he becomes a regular, co captain to AD. Blore seem to always captain sides he is on including origin
