I like the idea of Grant at fullback. He should be solid in defence, good under the highball and coming from rugby sevens it would be great to see him popping up in attack for some strong runs off marshall's hip. I reckon he will be fullback.

Tuqiri and either Utai or Reddy at wing.

Lawrence and Ayshford in centres (unless some massive playing people in different positions experiment is on the cards)

Marshall at 5/8 and then halfback.. hmm. Lui (with a bit of faith in improving his defence)?

your going off what he's done in 7's rugby? :unamused:
all this talk about Grant and he might not even see 1 game of FG.He certainly won't be there round 1 like some are suggesting

Finally some common sense about Grant if we were to go through injury free on the wings Grant won't see any game time . He isn't ready and won't be for a while best case scenario

Wow, what a prediction!!!!

Why did they sign him then? Are we short of wingers in the lower grades? He signed with us because he was promised a wing spot either in Wests or Balmain Ryde's reserve grade sides?

What a mystery signing.

what about Tim McGann? tell me how he faired after he came over from Union

if you think Grant is just gonna walk into the side then you are :crazy

When will a decision on Mitch Brown be made? I would keep him for depth especially since LOte appears to be injury prone in his later years.

He won't walk in. Tui started in Round 11 after his transfer over. It might take a few games for Grant to learn the NRL, but it is a long preseason. You never know how someone will adapt.

To me, he would have only bought on potential. Not to definitely fill a spot. We will only have 1 vacant outside back spot + fullback, with Reddy, Beau, Brown, koribete…. even Benji at 1 with siro at 6, possibly to fill them.

I think Grant would be earmarked for the full back spot. We will be without a fullback and apparently he can play in that position, and since Brown has been overlooked for f/b this season I doubt he will be in that position, assuming he is resigned, personally I still think Brown would be an excellent option…

What I want to see us start with in 2012:

1\. Brown
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Reddy
6\. Marshall
7\. Lui

14\. Utai

What we will probably see:

1\. Reddy
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan
6\. Marshall
7\. Lui

14\. Utai

Col he would of been signed on a second tier contract and if he can reach a certain level or stage they may offer him a extended contract after that and then the chance of extended stays in the top side If he does play top grade next season it won't be until mid season and if it is earlier there is a massive risk of failure . If he was going to be a gun don't you think 15 other NRL clubs would be throwing themselves after him ??

I think they signed grant so we could have 4 !!! Wingers on the bench next year

1\. Reddy/ Grant
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Utai
6\. Marshall
7\. Lui

Im willing to let Reddy and Grant fight out for the fullback spot but no other positions are up for grabs in my opinion except possibly Lui's. First backup winger should be Beau Ryan and first back up centre Geoff Daniela.

if it comes down to a fight between Reddy and Grant then its a no-contest.It's Reddy by the length of the Flemmington straight
and Daniela won't even be there next yr

GNR4LIFE I think you should be next years fullback ! You seem to think you know everything about every topic and copy and paste everyone's comments!! How many first grade games did you play mate ??

instead of 'pasting' me about my opinions why don't you try and provide a few of your own that are worth listening to
i didn't realize you could only have an opinion if you've played X amount of games :unamused:

Take the tip Tedesco and Nofoaluma will both be very much in contention for starting spots as of early next season.

Can only be a good thing. Keep the incumbents on their toes with talented youngsters looking for a shot to prove and perform. I'm really looking forward to Tedesco's development over the next year.

These two are every bit as good as Chris Lawrence at the same age, I`m very disappointed I couldn`t make it up to Gosford to see them go around tonight.

They both crossed for tries and Tedesco played at 7.
