@cochise I think it would be crazy for the bengals to take a WR with the #5 pick with their needs in the offensive line. What do you think?

Exactly, have you sent that to Zac yet? He'd be able to follow that. In my opinion, there's no way Burrow is asking for a wide receiver behind closed doors, and if he is then he's not as smart as I thought.

Draft day!
Anyone interested?

1: Lawrence
2: Wilson
3: Lance
4: someone tries up for fields
5: Chase

Any other predictions?

Looking to see what Belichick is up to

Need a QB but he will probably trade back lol

It will interesting to see if Rodgers ends up anywhere if so you would imagine it would be the Pats or the Niners which would send them over the top with the draft capital as well as being able to offload Garropolo

Yeah Pats could be one to watch, trading up to #4. Belicheck seems to have gone all in this off-season except qb so far. I think Brady winning in Tampa has taken off a little of his shine, so will be looking to bounce back very quickly.

I could easily see him going all in on Justin Fields if Mac Jones goes to 49ers (though I think he is a poor pick)

I wouldn't have any problem with that, but it sounds like Chase @ 5, ol in the 2nd. I would be happy with that if they land Liam Etchienburg in the 2nd. Instant starter.

As long as its Chase or Sewell and not someone else, it's an instant upgrade.

I want Sewell

Bengals get it horribly wrong. Why am i not suprised

Only wrong if their 2nd round pick is not a quality OL.

I get the love for Sewell, but he hasn't faced top competition. Chase has dominated the best, and has history with Burrow. I'm OK with it.

But 2nd round pick is critical. Fingers crossed lots of OL drop out of first round.

Really disappointed with the Chase pick. If any further evidence was needed, this pick proves the Bengals don't know how to put together a team. I don't care if Jerry Rice is available at WR, I wouldn't draft a wr with our current team. it makes no sense, no sense at all. Not once last year did I think, 'we really need a wr'. I thought we needed 1. to block, 2. to tackle. If you do those things then you can play football.

I predict Chase will be an average wide receiver. He's neither especially fast or tall and doesn't seem to have any particular stand out features. His catches in highlights look pretty average. But highlights are obviously not a great guide. Only thing that seems impressive is the way he knocks defenders down when he runs. But I don't really see anything special.

I also think Sewell will end up being really good. I have no ability to identify what makes a good tackle in college, but I predict this based on the fact the Bengals drafted someone else and this was a position of need.

Terrible pick. I actually hate being a Bengals fan.

I'm feeling you mate, though I love being a Bengals fan. I think I'm destined to support frustrating teams.

I'm not as concerned. The Bengals draft plan this year has actually worked out well so far.
Yeah passing on Sewell is tough, but much more depth at OL than WR this year.

Needed to replace AJ Green, we got the best wr in the draft and 10 year pro.

Our next pick is the critical one as it has to be OL and it must be an instant starter.

Cross your fingers for Teven Jenkins.
Though Creed Humphrey and Liam Etchienburg will also be upgrades.

To me it is a style of substance pick. Bengals always go for the flash.

At least its not the biggest mistake we have made in the draft lol

A lot of pundits had slater as the number 1 OL . Not saying I agree , but the point is Sewell isn’t the sure fire slam dunk some guys would have you believe .

Chase is supposed to be the best receiver in not only this draft next years and last years as well . He outplayed many of the top rookies last year in college , and if he didn’t sit this year , the odds are he would have repeated that .
I wouldn’t be that depressed about it . From what I was listening to all month , Chase to Bengals to play with his college QB , was always going to happen .

Also just to add to my last post , the bengals got real lucky by the fact that a lot of teams picked lower ranked players at certain positions projected to go in the second , and the jags and Steelers picked RBs.

Now the teams picking in front of them in the second round have defensive holes they should address first , which bodes well for the Bengals to get a first round projected OL early in the second .
I think they made the right choice . But as a Browns fan I hope not lol .
