I agree but i think...

Years end when Joffa and Mikaele head to the Dolphins and Tamou retires, which he may do even sooner since he rarely plays.... we'll be asking for more props.

Planning ahead with the long view in mind, another prop will be very important and a signing of Thompson's class would he ideal.

The Dolphins have a lot of spot to fill and the 2 QLD boys will be very keen to get paid and also go back close to family.
Didn't someone say the other day that Sheen's and Madge had a meeting Thompson and all parties were happy for move and just working on final payments etc.. It would top off a remarkable comeback for recruitment..

I can't believe how it's turned around. To be fair the same thing happened last year. We got our recruitment late but it was good. This off season has been better. I'll wait and see if Cotric is official but it sounds promising.

Big difference 6 weeks makes.

It could be 3 pretty decent signings plus a junior who could be anything in a short period of time. Then we may get a couple of really good contract renewals in Twal and Stef. So much for us not being able to sign players. Get your cap right and you are in with a chance.

What was needed was someone at the club who knew what they were doing with some pull.

I believe in horses for courses and Pascoe and Lee H were certainly on the wrong course until the shake up.

He's definitely a better winger than centre at the moment but that doesn't mean he can't become a good centre - has all the physical attributes for it. He'd be our best centre with Talau out, only 23 and a rep player

Thompson is a handy player, but he’s hardly a signing worth sweating on.

I think he is exactly the type of forward we have been crying out for for years. Not only is he aggressive but he has great leg speed and power.

Sometimes you need 1 guys that will start the fight that drags everyone else in. That’s what I see Thompson doing for us.

He's 26 and averaged 142m a game while being in the top half dozen or so players in the comp for average post-contact metres (> Paulo, Josh Papali'i, RCG, Arrow, Foutaika, Tino, Kikau, JWH, JFH, Taupau, Burgess, Welch...similar to Isaiah Papali'i and Koloamatangi and trailing Haas, Klemmer and Fonua-Blake). Seems more than handy to me.

What mongrel? It’s a term that’s constantly thrown around that is never defined. What does he do that describes mongrel? He has a poor judiciary record if that counts.

Well, Laurie is overrated so I’d disagree with that if Cotric looked the goods.
