How did the Bulldogs Raiders Titans Manly Dragons Storm Broncos and Panthers go?

We got lucky with the group we were drawn with

Simple as that Geo

Geezzz your pesimistic Happy. When we win it's because we're lucky and the opposition rolled over. When we lose it's because we have an ordinary side and have no depth.

Lighten up mate, it's the off season

Off season finished Friday

As I said earlier if others want to sugar coat it that's fine

I won't , I have expectations and as far as I'm concerned the 2nd day they weren't met

Tony do you think that the Titans or the Raiders played well ??

If I was a Raiders fan or a Titans fan I would of been seething with their performances against us

But that's OK , just keep accepting the mediocre BS we have dished out since the start of 2012

Mate we can't worry about what the oppostion does or doesn't do. The titans were ordinary and we smacked them 26-0, what else do you want ?

By circumstance not choice we were not able to pick our best squad and it showed against the better teams who were able to play their star players (Warriors and Roosters). There is nothing more we could have done ? Please tell me what more you wanted them to do ? Please ?

I seriously don't understand why your so jumpy and worked up over it ?

Lucky with the Draw lol… the Warriors and Titans were pre-tournament faves.....Dogs and Panthers didn't win a game...Manly won 1

The point is we performed better than all of them....

Warriors thrashed us and the Titans were horrible against us Tell me I'm lying ??

Your chasing your tail happy..

What was wrong with the 2nd try Geo ??

Did the Warriors player run too fast ??

If memory serves the Titans knocked on twice from dummy half

Your clutching Geo

Geez there are a lot of hard markers on here - the way I see it we overachieved with a team of young guys and plodders. If we had sent a top squad like Manly, Titans or Cowboys then I would be fuming. It shows what a Mickey Mouse comp 9s is when we go as far or further than those sides.

Well, now that all the youngsters have been crucified.

Now that the coach didn't have a game plan or took the wrong one.
Also that he selected the wrong team etc.

Now that we had too many forwards or ones that didn't have the ability to "off load."

Now that Lawrence and Richards are mostly to blame for or bad showing.

Can we now stop being pessimistic for 2015 over a comp that does not have any bearing on the NRL.

Trials will be a better indication of how Santi, Cherrington and Co. are going for 2015.

We went to the 9s - won $130.000 (Anasta doesn't have anything to to with it!), seemingly injury free apart from whatever happened to Simona. This all happened whether we won, against worse or better opposition.

Main thing is we got through it - we move onto the main course (NRL).

Let's give the coach, backup staff, and the team our full support for what is to come.

GO YOU MIGHTY TIGERS!

sharks v warriors final would have had the 2nd gunman on the hill (or maybe the Man On The Hill) tinfoil hat comments flying thick and fast

We were made to look a lot better than we actually were

If think the 2nd day showed that

People are still reading far too much into this

My starting point on all of this was we had the worst game plan for the Roosters game and we seemed to not have another back up plan

We were saving Simona for a game he was never going to play in a million years

And the poor ole Sharkies still await the return of Harold Holt…

You can't tell me teams aren't favoured.
The poor old Sharkies ruined the plan of having a Rabbits v Warriors final.
They had zero hope in extra time.
Q. How many times have you seen a ball that looked to be dropped backward called a knock on because it bounced forward?
A. Every time - except when it happens to the NRL's lovechild team in extra time.

This needs to be taken to Sydney or Brisbane occasionally. Unless the Warriors are playing the crowd is empty and disinterested.

Considering Taylor is a new coach coming into a club in turmoil I can not blame him one bit for not taking this series that seriously. We have had a huge history of starting seasons with players on the side line and behind the 8 ball.

He also needs every minute possible to implement his changes to playing style, man management, training regime, etc etc etc. Spending 2 weeks on Nines tactics and sending over our Top 17 would be time consuming and risky on two fronts. He also knows that with a thin roster he needs to give himself every chance to start the PREMIERSHIP in good shape. A lot of players are coming off injuries this off season.

And people are getting their knickers in a knot that he sent a bunch of youngsters ( that did pretty well) over to the nines and we raised the white flag. Please. This actually gave him a chance to asses the hunger and fitness levels of the younger players that might be required for depth. No one cares that the Cowboys won the 9s last year? It doesn't mean they have the monkey off their back. Its not something they would look back on a great acheivement, more like a bit of fun.

Have a look at his circumstances compared to other coaches and where other clubs are at before bagging him. To me he took the series as it should be taken for a first year coach in a club with an injury history. Maybe if we have good year this year and Taylor is more established he might send a slightly stronger squad next year. People seem to be losing the context.
