No "born" leaders in the team

Sadly, this is the reality..the game was there for the taking but unfortunately none of our "senior" players - Benji, Robbie, to name a few - for reasons best known to themselves seemed to want to take control - in fact, I think the Benji/Robbie combination in the halves works dead set against their natural game..Perhaps coaches should look at developing leaders on the field that may not have natural playing skills but have the brains to direct a team around the park…

Neither of them have really stepped up in a big game or even a tight game to lead us home. I think Todd Payten should have been our captain after hodgo.

You don't think Farah should be captain?

Come on boys, don't say stupid things when we're in bad moods…

yeah, i agree. From what I've seen, Farah hasn't stood up as a captain. Some of his plays are very low percentage and could cost us games and finals series in the long term. At times, he has been glory seeking instead of playing what's in the team's best interests.

I think we've got to start brainstorming some possible captains, and I think (as gallagher just said) Toddy Payten would be a not a bad choice as captain. Further candidates I had in mind were Heighington, Ellis and Tuqiri

Never have. Its not the under 7's where your best player has to be the captain. I think way too many times he needs to be reeled in , in some of the things he does. A captian needs a cool head.

It's not a question of captaincy - it's whether, in time of need, any of our senior players actually stand up to be counted, regardless of what's on their arm…

Farah and Marshall had shockers. But what happens? every other player have outstanding games. Every leader has a bad day. Today Farah and Marshall had one together. Payten and Ellis stood up. Ellis if he signed a long term contract is a stand out captain

Payten or Ellis would be great. In saying that though, I don't think Farah should be stripped of the captaincy…

Agreed. Ellis would be great for the club as Payten seems to have injury issues which would hurt with your captain missing so many games. Farah does seem to take so many low percentage plays. That kick he put in for Tuqiris try a few weeks ago is an example. That one worked but so many do not.
