I am tired of seeing the opposition make a break and our players jogging behind rather than seriously chasing. Talau was an offender a couple of times today.

This group (of players) would have to be very very low on confidence......HOWEVER they are the ones that can either win or lose a game, have they forgotten its up to them.

Absolutely correct. When I played football a long time ago, my coach use to always tell us that you can't coach enthusiasm/attitude. That has to come from within each individual. Whenever he sent something out to the team, he sign it off with the saying "think big, play big". To this day, if he sends an email around in our group of ex-players, it still says "think big, play big" at the end. Even though we haven't played in a decade.

This team is lacks attitude, mental strength & most of all, desire. And if they can't find that within themselves, it doesn't matter who's coaching them, they will always be a pedestrian.

At some point you have to accept that the squad is just not good enough to compete every week. Their was great effort last week for no result - the impact of that doesn't magically disappear with a struggling team. DCE and TT destroyed us in 10 mins both skill wise, and in the head space.

We need to look deeper than the on field performance to get anywhere near the source of the problem imo. The poor performance on the field is a symptom of a much larger issue.
Sacking coaches and players hasn’t worked in the past and all it does is buy time for the mediocrity disease to strengthen its grip. It’s time the entire organisation had a complete review with all positions put under the microscope and all interactions examined, to produce and implement a strategy for development. It needs to be done externally and without favour.
Why?
Because the players need a higher purpose than the one we are giving them.

Someone to take on a Director of Football type role would be a start. Someone like a Phil Gould to completely rip apart all the rubbish and clean it out.

You'd have to get the Board to agree with any recommendations made. Somehow I doubt they would.

He completely turned Panthers around and they're now seeing the reward for systems he put in place. Not sure if there's many similar types to him out there to fill the role however whatever they're doing and have been doing for 15+ yrs hasn't and isn't working.

I agree lack of effort is a major factor in why the team has performed so poorly lately. It's the only way I can think to explain how you can go from such a close result last week to another blow out on this occassion.

For a long time, it's almost as if they play only as hard as required. Example yesterday grinding out the first 20 mins and going 6-0. Then practically switching off until Manly scored again, by which point they'd already lost too much momentum and were outplayed and out enthused until the end. Always embarrassing to see the latter more so though, and I think that's what most fans are mad about.

The Titans have had 76 - points scored against them in two weeks. Five other clubs had more than 30 put on them this week. Six games out of eight where teams leak big margins. Fatigue and effort work against each other - welcome to the new game. We got out classed yesterday by DCE and TT - they did the same to the Titans the week before.
We do not have any quality players of that calibre and a spine where two of our players are 19 and 20 with less than ten games between them. This whole we are a better team on paper is a fallacy there is nothing to back that up other than wishful thinking.
We cant recruit without over spending - Cleary and Maguire have both proved that - we have to build from within and that is where we are at Sack Maguire and we are still in the same position.

It's a very strong point. Sharks allowed Bulldogs to run in 18 points this week (25.7% of Bulldogs total points scored 2021), Souths allowed Titans to score 30, Raiders conceded 26 to Cowboys (20.6% of Cowboys points scored 2021), Dragons conceded 34.
