No Media Love

If anyone had a spare tenner and had to bet on wooden spooners for 2022, it would be Tigers. Cowboys and us are favourites to win the spoon this year and all for the right reasons.

I'll try to be more optimistic this year though! There is definitely some improvements from last year.
 
Things aren't looking good. Young players who haven't yet lived up to their potential are all out injured (Blore, Doueihi, Kepaoa, Liddle, Talau). It's hard to build a team culture when the team chops and changes.

We are so down on momentum because guys just can't stay on the park. I can't see how we field a competitive side until the aforementioned players start to come back.
 
I enjoy bloke in a bar and rugby league guru but they shouldn’t be bagging the tigers when they haven’t got their facts. Bagging the club for not playing Twal and putting peachey at hooker. I’m not sure why Twal didn’t play but surely he is a shoe in to be in the 17 round one. We played peachey at hooker after Liddle went off injured so had to try it. It’s only a trial but we are bagged for absolutely anything we do
 
Ennis was particularly bad in the roosters trial. It’s not that what he is saying is necessarily wrong, but the persistence and tone of voice suggests an underlying resentment towards us.

Yes and a lack of a single experienced first grade level leader that could be captain compounds this issue.

When the roosters caught the ball it was champagne rugby league...have to squeeze blood out of a rock to get a compliment.
 
One trial win from behind against a depleted roosters side does not make a top 8 side. There were some positives.

Forwards played well and they bent the opposition back even when we were behind in the game. Means that D will be better this season it’s a attitude thing.

Backing up breaks some great open field running with players sniffing around for an off load non existent last season.

Hastings was a true general might not have a captaincy position but his performance was outstanding, creator in attack and defends. He never stopped all game and talked up brooks after the game. Brooks ran the ball his strength.

Storm round 1 depleted with squad like the Roosters squad, if we win scrapping for a final 8 spot this season. If we lose in the bottom 4 again and looking for a new coach as club/members want results.

Of course it doesn't, but as you say, some good signs. I'm not buying any finals tickets just yet.
