Nofo & Simona

I'd like to see Nofo have a chance in the centres, and it may be a good opportunity on the off chance Lawrence is suspended.

For me, our biggest challenge is how to get the best out of Nofo and Simona.

So much potential there.

But so long since we were able to run around a side on the edges.

And we've never been able to compete for the high ball.

They both have the footwork, speed and ability under the high ball to add that dimension.

What's stopping this?

Simona seems to have been carrying an injury for a while, which seems to have slowed him down a bit.

Or have we over estimated his potential?

Are they both better wingers?

Nofo particularly seems capable of running the kind of lines you need from a centre. The type of runs we once saw from Lawrence.

Are Naiqama and Hoeter better options? Fine, Seve or even Lovett?

How do we get this mix right?

If Rowdy is suspended (shouldn't be).

Give Nofo a go in the centre to get it out of everybody's system.

He will be a very ordinary centre - I don't care if he payed in the centre when he was 14 or whatever. This is the NRL.
At least we will be able to put one myth to bed.

At least then we can put a real centre back in when he comes back.

I thought Rowdy played well last night - why the need for change?

Good point. Based on those type of runs and given a bit of time to work on a combination with the halves he could make a go of it.

Just saw the highlights, Lawrence's shoulder charge looked very bad.

Ye noffa at centre is worth a try. How did be go in the reggies?

Does anyone know if we can stream the Reggie's game? To check out nofo and moltzen a return?

Find out at 3pm today….

I thought Simona was great last night. Looked like breaking the line almost every time he ran the ball. Something needs to be done about Lawerence though. Maybe bring in Nofo into the centres and let Chris replace Santi on the bench as a Utility back and running second rower on the edges.

I really admire this forum's optimism

Cos we're going to need another centre, no getting around it. I'm thinking either Nofolauma comes in to cover Lawrence or he starts on the wing and Naiqama plays in the centres. Either way Lawrence isn't playing against Parramatta.

For those who haven't seen the replay yet, here's the hit we're talking about. Lawrence comes in way late, feet off the ground, appears to turn the shoulder into the collision but it's actually the elbow that connects with the face. Perrett came straight off for a concussion test and rightly so. I'm not sure what other boxes you need to tick to get yourself suspended. I've always been a big fan of Rowdy, but that was just an old fashioned brain explosion.

On the plus side that's the fastest Chris Lawrence has moved in a while.

I thought Rowdy had a good game, but due to a red mist moment on Sam Perret I think he'll be very lucky to play against the Eels, which hastens the Nofauluma discussion and the possibility of a backline reshuffle.

i like a winger who is safe under the high ball and nofo has shown that so far in first grade.
prefer he stay on the wing.
naiqama is who i want to get first crack, and see how moses can take advantage of his speed.
have a feeling those 2 could be lethal next to each other in attack with nofo to finish it off.

Agree Bon, the kid who made his debut last night showed some decent potential.

We have abit of depth across the park generating which is exciting and great to see

With Lawrence, I suspect it's less "red mist" than him just being a terrible leaper for the ball. He didn't even appear to know where the ball was. Like others, I thought he might be a chance to escape suspension but that shot with the elbow looks bad.

If he is out, I'd be surprised if it wasn't Naiqama who moves to his spot

Lawrence won't be suspended due to the fact that he was already off the ground before the ball was court - you are allowed to jump for a ball

Agreed. Better to bring the in form Naiqama closer to the action in attack and defence and either let Nofo ease back into his preferred position, or give Hoeter another run after a solid debut.

1\. Tedesco
2\. Hoeter/Nofauluma
3\. Simona
4\. Naiqama
5\. Richards

Depends on Nofo's match fitness in NSW cup today I guess. Anyone see the game? Foxtel was no help.

Had to laugh at the commentators saying Lawrences knee was lifted - pretty hard to avoid doing that when you jump!

but really Lawrences late hit is a result of his loss of athleticism and the inevitable decay of his game as he ages. Anyone who's played sport as they've moved into their 30s can attest to how you all of a sudden are a second or two slower than you used to be. At the elite level, with his injuries, even at his age, time catches up w you

30's….lol he is 26.

Nofo won't be there next week. Injured his arm/shoulder today and likely to miss some more football.
