Nofoaluma - Contract Thread..

Has there ever been such a massive contradiction by a player in 2 consecutive days? Just another day at the circus.

I'd say his manager got in his ear last night following his presser and said - mate dont make it so obvious you wanna stay. We need to make it sound like you're undecided so we can push your offer up.

Tigers might have a new 1-17 next year….

Last sentence reads more like 'good bloke but staying' to me.

What about this?

“He’s really keen on building something at Parramatta, and I’ve taken on the things he’s discussed with me.

“You’ve got to weigh up your options and make a decision when the time comes.

**“It’s interesting because me and Mitch play on the same side of the field. I don’t see any harm if that was to happen, me and him would still have a good combination.**

“It all comes down to the best offer and making the best decisions.

“Obviously Mitch has made a decision and there are reasons behind that that I don’t know.

“I’m hoping to get three years for stability. It gives me time to focus on footy and not worry about contracts — not worrying that I’m coming off contract next year or the year after, but that I have three years to focus purely on one club.”

“I want to be up there and noticed as one of the good players, and I’m doing everything I can, whether it be at training or in the game, to do that,’’ he said.

“Obviously coming off contract, you want to be playing to what you’re valued and get the best coin you can these days.

All our players are money hungry flogs

Ha ha ha - and he thinks this is a good thing.

Not sure how much more of this I can take. Pretty shit outcome for the fans, we got sold a dream based on youth that would come through now we must reset to a motley crew of rag tags.

Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma considers joining Mitchell Moses at Parramatta Eels

Adrian Proszenko - SMH

David Nofoaluma could follow Mitchell Moses to Parramatta after revealing he has spoken to Brad Arthur about the prospect of also shifting across to the blue and golds.

Nofoaluma has set himself the lofty goal of becoming the "best winger in the game" and is seeking a three-year deal at a club that can help him achieve it. While much of the focus has been on Wests Tigers' attempts to re-sign the 'big four', Nofoaluma is also off contract and considering approaches from rival clubs. One of them is the Eels, who are seeking a replacement for rugby-bound winger Semi Radradra.

Teammate Moses has already signed for Parramatta and is tipped to swap teams at the conclusion of the Eels-Tigers clash at ANZ Stadium on Easter Monday. Nofoaluma is also in Arthur's sights after an outstanding start to the season that has resulted in him leading the league in offloads with 21, ranking fifth in run metres with 1024 and third in tackle breaks with 47.

While Nofoaluma said his preference was to stay put, he had bought into Arthur's vision for the Eels.

"Yeah, I've spoken with him, we've had talks," Nofoaluma said.

"There are a lot of positive things that you hear from him and Mitch has told me the same thing.

"He's really keen on building something at Parramatta and I've taken on the things he's discussed with me. At the end of the day you've got to weigh up your options and make a decision when the time comes."

The fact that good friend Moses is also shifting to the Eels won't hurt that club's chances of snaring Nofoaluma.

"It's interesting because me and Mitch are on the same side of the field," he said.

"I don't see any harm if that was to happen, me and him would still have a good combination.

"It all comes down to the best offer and making the best decisions. Obviously Mitch has made a decision and there are reasons behind that that I don't know. My goal is to perform the same and I'll focus on playing, whatever happens happens."

There is no shortage of quality flankers in the NRL with Semi Radradra, Jordan Rapana, Corey Oates, Suliasi Vunivalu and Josh Mansour among the best in the business. When asked the secret behind his good form, Nofoaluma said he was driven to be part of the conversation.

"It's purely based on wanting to becomes the best winger in the game," he said.

"I want to be up there and noticed as one of the good players. I'm doing everything I can, whether it be at training or in the game, to do that. Obviously coming off contract, you want to be playing to what you're valued and get the best coin you can these days.

While speculation over the 'big four' had been a distraction from the players and the club, Nofoaluma said he was unfazed by uncertainty over his own future.

"I finished the year last year and had a bit of confidence from the club, a lot of people saying that I finished the year with my best footy," he said.

"A lot of people saying if I was to bring that into this year it would be a great start to the season. I had that mentality all the way through pre-season training.

"I knew from the get-go I wanted to be one of the top wingers, if not top three wingers in the comp. I came with that mentality at the start of the season and what I expected, it's happening.

"I couldn't really be prouder of myself."

**Obviously coming off contract, you want to be playing to what you're valued and get the best coin you can these days.**

Who cares about the other two and a half years you are contracted for?

I hope he follows his mate, he's a grub to me now. Go away.

Meh. At least he's honest.

An honest grub is a good grub, I suppose.

I don't have a problem with nofo wanting more money, that's ok. Part of the reason why they play.

As long as he doesn't use that stupid line the others have trotted out. And doesn't take the rest of the season to sort it out.

Who cares about the club paying his bills for him at present? What a disgrace. Perhaps he should learn from young Brooks.

He's off the bus.
His comments about playing his best when his contract up is a bad sign of the attitude of our players.
These big heads should be purged.
If I was Ivan I would be reducing the offers to Woods, Teedy and Nofo and say we are using the extra cash to build a good team than just have a few stars with a team of plodders. Either you are in or out. And you have 48 hours to decide.
Knowing what he did at Penrith I wouldnt be surpised if this happens.

His preference is to stay put. , but he has bought into Brads Vision
Mitch plays on the same side
Mitch is his mate

It's all talk , we don't know what him and Cleary have talked about and I'm sure Cleary would have spoken to him as he would be one to keep , another win over Parra will help these guys out as confidence grows , they have a new coach , club has gone into the market with
McQueen signed up
Brooks Resigned
And have they been told that player x is close or already signed but we can't come out yet and make it official ,

Or has Cleary come out and said IF you don't want to be here or you have signed just let me know and we move on

Love Nofo, only going to improve under Cleary- Hope we have been talking with him in a positive way when all this other Drama has been going on, i will feel a lot happier when i hear he has signed PLease
