Nofoaluma Out Until Round 4

I would probably feel a little hard done by if Frozone gets relegated straight back to reggies when Nofo is fit to return. Frozone might not break as many tackles as Nofo, but he is quicker and defensively he has proven solid so far and he's just as willing in attack as Nofo. Put both of them in clean air and I reckon Frozone will get across the tryline quicker.

I love Nofa and also think he is ahead of the other backs. Fair point about needing match fitness so maybe a week or two in reggies is a good idea, but I'd have him straight in once match fit.

The bonus is we get to see both Naqiama and Lawrence prove their worth. I do like the look of Naqaima's pre season form and ideally when Nofa's back having Naqiama at centre in reggies would be ideal to see if he can handle that position.

I'm sorry to all the optimists but Lawrence is the one on the outer for mine and if the time comes to drop him I'd be happy to see either Nofa or Naqiama at centre. Both ultimately wingers but i think either of them could make a good centre.

Nofa is twice the player of Naqiama - although I must admit he has shown some good form in the trials.
Not enough though - when Nofa is ready straight in for mine.

Trying to remember when Nofoaluma actually had surgery

Was it August or earlier ??

It was immediately after the season had finished, so probably August. He must of been playing with a pretty bad injury to be out for this long. Makes his performances all the more admirable.

Yes Indeed….. a partial tear of your ACL will do that to you

Yes don't need any lessons with knee injuries my leftie has had medial damage , posterior damage ,meniscus removed with 4 separate tears in it , ruptured ACL , hairline fracture of the kneecap ,dislocated it and is now full of arthritis

Poor Happy. I've seen a lot of patients with knee injuries. They can be very painful and depending on the type of injury, it takes a long time to heal and recover. :frowning: i hope you are receiving some treatment for your arthritis as it can be a debilitating desease.

I have to agree with you Willow. I like Kevin and the way he plays the game. He doesn't hold back. Puts 100% in to his game. I like to see both him and Nofo have a spot in the team. Would hate it if one of them misses out.

Just give him some concrete….

Nofo comes straight in for mine...who he replaces that is the question?????

it'll be obvious or the decision will be made for us already by round 3 or 4.

if all fit, id imagine naiqama comes down unless lawrence is absolutely abysmal at centre. no need to force nofa at centre if lawrence is going fine imo. not needed

Two choices in my opinion Geo Lawrence or Frozone

Looks like the young un has got Willow into children's movies

There has to be room made for both Naiqama and Nofo when Nofo returns. Naiqama is just too good to leave out and we desperately need his speed and athletic ability. You all probably know where I'm leading with this here, but will it ever actually happen? For the sake of our team, I hope so.

If Noffa is our greatest outside back not named Tuiaki already, then its a sad reflection on where we're at as a club.

The old Chris Lawrence was ahead of where Noffa is at.

Whatuira wasn't too bad either.

I don't really get the Whatuira 'love'. He was a competent centre, but really - did anyone actually see him pass a football? Solid player but that's about it for me. (Sorry mods, I know it's off topic).

Richards isn't in that Happy? He is top on my list. Naqaima moves to left wing with Nofo coming in on the right. That's of course without considering form as that remains to be seen.

Look I wouldn't think so KS , every conversion will be crucial to the Tigers season I think KS

I love Nofoaluma as much as the next guy. He is my favorite back and i love how hard and reliable he plays but anyone thinking he just walks into the team after months out of the game after everyone else has slogged the off season and played all the trials is delusional.

Thanks for helping put the fan in fantasy. . . . .

Lawrence always has…..Tedesco as well

Thats is true but it has been a long long time and his form last year was not as good as the year before.

Just cant see a new coach like Taylor going for it.

I think the difference is that Noffa is a potential Origin player. Sure, the Fresh Prince may have some early season form but once Noffa gets some kilometres in the legs he will be first choice every time.

I agree with you good post….Taylor has been on record saying players wont be rushed back until the are ready...just saying it's not un-heard of or delusional....
