He'll either get back in FG or his manager will find someway to move him on to another club. I think you are kidding yourself if you think he will stay happily loyal in reggies.

The coach should break up a winning team and shaft players that are breaking there backs for the TEAM making way for FAN favourites .
This is the era of the TEAM not individuals , if certain players do not like it I hear there could be openings out Parra way !

Not for a minute suggesting what the coach should do Snake. Just saying that these days a player stuck in reggies at any club will look for FG opportunity elsewhere. If Nofa cant get back into FG I expect he will do the same and other clubs will be open to it.
Regardless of how loyal he is, the longer he stays in reggies the more likely he will look for other opportunities.

Well then he wouldn't be the club man we all think he is.

All he has to do is what Ivan asked - simples.

Here I thought paying for players to play at other Clubs were over..even a player requested release would see us picking up freight ..See Adam Blair etc etc..

Didn't he sign a new deal last year for good wingers money he wont be going anywhere needs to bide his time and work on what IC requires if he wants out Tigers dont have to pay anything only if we shop him around if he wants out good luck to him in securing a better or similar contract remember West Tigers are a team this year and there's no I in team.

Is Nofo fine playing Regges?

If so then why are we worried? This is called Having Depth! If he wants to get back he can switch to the left wing and push out MWZ. He is on a 300K contract and might just enjoy his time at the lower grades.

Why worry if there is no problem?

No, I don't think he is fine with it from what I've seen, and being the player he is, I wouldn't expect him to be.

As nice as that story is, what is he expected to say? I can't believe I'm stuck back here? I have to drag myself out of bed on game day??

I'm a big fan of his and good on him for having pride in the Maggies jersey, and looking at the positive side of why he is not in the first team… and for putting on a bit of a happy face for the interview. But when I watch David closely in these ISP games, I see a player who can barely hide his disappointment in being there. And I feel for him, but it is obviously for a reason be it training/defence whatever and we just have to go with the coach on the decision.

I'd love to see him fight his way back in but until then, I hope he's getting plenty of support from all avenues because it can't be easy.

I believe he is professional enough to realise where he is and why and how he can rectify it.
There's also things such as injury, suspensions and rep duties that can come into play in this regard

This year Nofo has made 320 m from 38 runs in 2 matches (Fox Sports) = 8.42 m per run and 16 runs per game.

MWZ has 467 m from 67 runs in 5 matches = 6.97 m per run and 13.4 runs per game.

Nofo is still clearly the better runner and has more runs than MWZ on average, albeit from a small sample of games, but what you'd expect from previous form.

Personally I think Nofo's run output in his two games was a bit disappointing, but that applies to both wingers, they have a bit of a habit of running across-field as they engage the defensive line, which occasionally means they get driven backwards. Thompson on the other hand has a late step and surges into the line, so he rarely gets lifted.

So the question is do we need Nofo's extra 1.5 metres and 3 hitups per game? That accounts for 45 m of go-forward (13 x 1.5 + 3 x 8.42) per match. Is it offset by MWZ's arguably superior defence and ball control?

Seems coach says "yes". Good thing for Nofo is he is clearly next in line, the path to FG is clear and if there are any injuries, he's in.

I wouldn't change a winning side. People can argue you can improve a winning side, but for situations like this where there is no glaring lack of output, IMO the overall formula of the team is more important than the individual components. Tinker too much and you can actually undo a working formula.

Not to mention all the other arguments - Nofo is naturally a RHS winger like Thommo etc. Nobody would argue to replace Thommo right now, so it's not really a discussion?

You want a team that's hard to break into. This is something that we haven't had in a long time.
We are well under the cap with lots of players between the 300k-600k mark and no players over the 900k-1.3 mill range. If a couple of 400k play half a season or more in ISP it's not a big deal.
If halfway through the season a few players are out for a length of time and the likes of Nofo and McQueen come in, we will a fielding a strong team. As players know that Ivan will reward those that are doing a good job.

I wonder how long before he asks for a release?

Maybe if he spends the year in reggies… Lots of people these days have this attitude of "i can leave and get better elsewhere rather than work hard to achieve a goal"

He looks so unhappy in CUP, won't be surprised if he has a sus elsewhere.

Novo is a good loyal player and will be back. But for now what's important is who Marsters needs outside him in defence.?

Bingo.

I like Nofo and I think he is a good winger. He needs to sort out his defense. By plugging that leak, we have been doing so much better on our defense and winning with low point scores. Because Nofo can make those extra meters, if he gets his defense up he would Cain it for us. Maybe allowing us to win by 12 or 14 to 10 (instead of 11-10).

He needs to get his defense up. There is no point in having a team of 12 good defenders and one turn style!
Defense has been our problem for like 12 years! Lets keep solving it and make it clear, if you want to play for us and be a part of the big 17 be a solid defender!

I like you Nofo, so hit the training weights and get your defense up!

**<big>"hit the training weights"????</big>**

That is not his problem. It's reading the play that is the problem.

He is getting better, but not quite there yet imo.

Nofa is not a depth player he is a FG'er who is currently not the preferred option in his position.
That may change with injury and form, but the two infront of him are making it difficult given the position we are in.
Correct me if Im wrong but pretty sure the situation was the same with ET at Penrith hence why he is now with us.

How many tries has Noffa let in this year?

He's only played 2 games and 1 try was scored across both games.

Considering it was Vunivalu who scored on the opposite wing the answer is Zero..

Yeh doesn't sound like Nofo has chucked the towel in, good on you champ, you will be back.
