6 January 1930 - Don Bradman's colossal score, with a "machine-like steadiness", a young Donald Bradman set a world record for the highest individual first-class innings after scoring 452 not out during a match against Queensland.

Bradman's record score stood for almost three decades, when Hanif Mohammad scored 499 for Karachi during the 1958–59 season.
This stood for more than 35 years before being passed by Brian Lara in 1994.
