The day we changed from pounds shillings and pence to dollars and cents.I still remember the jingle that we used to be bombarded with on the TV and radio.

Today in 1985 "The Breakfast Club" was released, directed by John Hughes, starring Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall and Ally Sheedy.
Powerful words, and very true. Unfortunately, he didn’t live by them himself. His request to Milena was almost a call for help, revealing his own inner struggles.

I remember when I was young (12) I went to the 1969 GF on my own. Mum got a ticket for me to the game from our home in Green Valley (a shit hole) - in the Sheridan Stand back then. She had some work friends take me with them to the SCG. That night I stayed at my Nan's place in Bondi. She had 2 types of TV back then - Black and White. I was allowed to stay up late and watch the Rex Mossop "Club Show," which was a bit of a blur, especially when Sid Williams was "interviewed." I miss the simple things in life.Channel 7 was the broadcasters of the rugby league, with the great man Rex Mossop as the caller, the telecast began at 6:30pm went for an hour.
When you added in the commercials, we saw about 42 minutes of actual footage.
You’d go from the 11th to the 18th minute in the blink of an eye.
That's how it was back then. When we got to the finals, it was an hour and a half.
