And just as the Aussies get to strut their stuff at the Commonwealth Games starting tomorrow, who can forget Roy and HG and Fatso the Fat-Arsed Wombat??
Fatso is a wombat with a lazy, cheerful expression and comically pronounced rump.
He usually appeared on The Dream broadcasts, sometimes as a life-size stuffed toy on Roy and HG's desk.

Fatso the Fat-Arsed Wombat was an unofficial mascot of the 2000 Summer Olympics created by Sydney cartoonist Paul Newell with Roy and HG from the Australian Channel Seven sports comedy television program - The Dream with Roy and HG.Fatso is a wombat with a lazy, cheerful expression and comically pronounced rump.

Launched in February 1986 the VL Holden Commodore was the first Holden designed to run on unleaded petrol and to use a closed loop catalytic converter.
The V8 was released in October 1986 and was the only Australian made car at the time to offer a V8 engine option.
It was the Holden 5.0 Litre (4.987) Rochester four-barrel carburetor V8 producing 122kw and 323nm of torque after being redeveloped to run on unleaded fuel and was available right across the VL Commodore range.
The 5.0 Litre V8 was only available with the Australian made three speed Trimatic automatic.
The VL model was to regain the number one spot from the Ford Falcon with private Buyers, but the XF Falcon was still the first choice for fleet buyers.
Price when new for a 1986 VL Holden Commodore SL 5.0 Litre V8 three speed automatic sedan: $17,787.00.
Total VL Holden Commodores produced: 151,801.
